The Leagues Under 12 Rep side started their campaign with a win this Sunday at Coach Road newton Abbot, the League Chairman John Penkethman was there to watch the game and hada few words to say "I would like to thank Marc Cullen and Nigel Vaughan-Ryall for their help with the team to day. Thanks also the both sets of players, officials and spectators. Their attitude was great.

This was a cracking game of football. Both teams played some great football, it was end to end.

DJM took the lead with a looping effort that Keeper Connor Radford just failed to stop going over the line. The midfield trio of Jack Hirst, Joe Balkwill and Tom Williams were creating numerous openings and soon Exeter were level with Williams finishing well. Exeter had Radford to thank for keeping the scores level with great save, just before half time.
  
The second half started with some early pressure from DJM, only the woodwork and a super save from Ed Hurley prevented them regaining the lead. Exeter settled and took the lead. Lewis Matthews receiving the ball on the edge of the area, turning smartly and sending an unstoppable shot into the DJM net. There were half chances for both teams but it was DJM who would get the next goal. A good finish to make it 2-2.

Now, the two teams were going for the winner. As time was running out it looked like a draw would be most likely. Bradley Frost had other ideas though and in the last minute he went on run. He surged down the right side and put in a super cross. At the far post Frankie Sheppard was rising high to head home . What a way to end the match.

 I would to thank the Devon Junior and Minor League ( DJM ) for being very good hosts, but more chips next time please. Also to everyone involved in making the day " a good day for football "

Exeter City FC are holding a Charity Santa Dash at 1.15pm on Saturday 17^th December before the home game with Scunthorpe.

If you wish to run (well actually it is only one mile & not a serious run), you can raise funds for the charity of your choice, such as The Adam Stansfield Foundation, Devon Air Ambulance, Help for Heroes, or whichever charity is closest to your heart.

The C.W.Dynamoes U14 have seen their numbers drop recently and are struggling to field a side, we are exploring every avenue to draw in players so we can keep the team playing for the remainder of the season. 

As you are all aware teams have already withdrawn from this league due to the same experience as us, with that in mind, I as C.W.Dynamoes manager,  would like to ask for your help, if you have any players that are not playing regularly in your U14 side and just want to play football, we would like very much to hear from you, players or parents. 

We currently have 10 players available to field but would like to have at least 14 which would give us a fighting chance, the club wish to continue but unless we attract 3 or 4 new players we will have to take the decision and withdraw from the league as well.

Sport England have recently launched a programme known as SPORTS MAKERS, that has a primary aim is getting more volunteers involved in Sport, in line the ‘Olympic Legacy'. Using the Olympic games as the catalyst to enthuse people to become more involved in the running of sport. 

Active Devon who are the County Sports Partnership, are leading on the Sports Makers programme, and through the work they are delivering in local communities and in the education sector, are now seeking a number of ‘placements', which these new volunteers can be enrolled upon. Active Devon have approached the Devon County FA, as the governing body for Football, who's workforce is largely voluntary to enquire of any placements that are available. DO YOU NEED NEW PEOPLE WITHIN YOUR CLUB? 

As a governing body we will be supporting Active Devon with the SPORTS MAKERS programme (which is looking a pronominally 16+ volunteers). We fully understand the need for more volunteers in  football, and  also understand the need from our member clubs and leagues that these must be committed individuals that are focused on the long term sustainability of your organisation. Active Devon will endeavour to ensure all enrolled volunteers are committed to your organisation, and the programme. All that enrol will have to commit to attended a 3 hour introductory workshop to underline their intentions, before being signposted to a local organisation.

Saturday mornings for the U8's, U9's and U10's involve two games running side by side at the same time. This obviously means two sets of goals are required. It is the home team( hosts) who should be providing these. Exeter City play Swindon in the Johnston Paints Trophy on Tuesday 4^th October. The last round saw a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Plymouth Argyle. To encourage more children & families to attend we have brought the kick off forward from 7.45pm to 7.15pm to avoid a late night. Ticket prices are dramatically reduced in this competition & children under 16 are just £2 anywhere in the stadium, including the Flybe Stand.

Exeter City under 18's are playing a home game against Torquay United on the St James Park pitch this coming Saturday, 24^th September at 1pm. The league has a vry dedicated and extremely good Referee's Appointments officer, who has been continually frustrated by clubs not informing him that they have referees already sorted for their games.  Please note that unless otherwise agreed Under 12's and above will have referees appointed to their games each weekend -  The appointed referees are listed on each age groups fixtures page and it is the duty of the home team to ensure they are aware who the official is and make contact with them prior ot the game to let them know everything is OK.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATIONS 

At our recent League Meeting is was stated that Registration forms had to be in as soon as possible for the start of the season. All registration forms from age groups 7-16 need to be in by Saturday 17^th September, this is the deadline. So for any team or players who have not yet submitted their paperwork you have a few extra days.  You can still register players after this date, you simply need to havea full team registered to play by the 17th.

Any Player who does not have an FAN No cannot play unless they have an Emergency Form signed by a member of the League. To obtain a FAN No you need to do the following 

Take a Head and Shoulder Photo of your Player

Post or Email to Devon FA, the easiest way is to email attaching your photo, complete with the Players name, address, dob, club and team name. Your FAN will be emailed back within a day or so, you then need to inform the relevant league secretary Carole or Julie so that your Player can be registered and added to the database, without this, your player cannot be registered. Your Card will arrive approximately within 7 days. Emergency Forms will only be issued once for 2 weeks, unless the FA tell us that they have a problem with that particular Player. Transfers 

There is still a large amount of confusion on this. If a player has signed for a team for the new 2011/2012 and then decides to move teams he will need to fill in a transfer form and submit the relevant fee and cannot play until this has been authorized. If a player has not signed for another team this season, it doesn't matter who they played for last year, then no transfer form is needed. If anyone is unsure, please give Carole a call, so I can clarify this for you. If a team has folded then a transfer form needs to be filled in but no fee submitted. 

If you require confirmation of your players you must submit a sae.

A huge amount of player registration forms have been submitted, the majority have no Fan numbers, it appears some managers are not aware what a Fan number is or even know how to apply for them? Club Secretary's please make sure you communicate what is required to all managers.

Some managers have not sent in any registrations and many have just not completed the forms properly. Many many forms have been returned. Many emails have been sent.

Behind the scenes we are continuingto work very hard on behalf of all clubs, players and managers to provide what we hope is a great environment and league for all those involved. As we have said many times in the past IT IS YOUR LEAGUE we are just facilitating it, but without input and help from everybody it makes the work of a few unpaid volunteers extremely difficult.

Any Player Registration Forms that have been submitted WITHOUT the FAN No's due to the managers waiting for the FA to supply this, must let the relevant Registration Secretary know this number prior to the player playing in a game, otherwise an emergency form must be completed and signed by a member of the League.

 A player is only registered once we have the FAN No, even if you have had a slip back this will state that we still require the FAN No the slip confirms receipt of the form it does not automatically  confirm your player is registered to the system.

With the League officers keying in all the player registrations the age old "can the under 8's play in the U9's" question has arisen again. Several teams are reliant on players in the Under 9's age group from the younger ones. After discussions with Devon FA it was deemed acceptable for this to happen for the non-competitive league games. HOWEVER ..... those players who have not reached 8 years of age by the 31st of August in the playing season WILL NOT be allowed to participate in any of the Cup or Plate competition games.

If you are in doubt, check with the registrations Officers - teams that fall foul of the ruling run the risk of being removed from the Cup or Plate competition if  illegal players are discovered to have played.

Please also not that the results for the Under 9's will not be published this coming season, however we still require them for recording pruposes.

It is with deep sadness that I have to report another team casualty. We will not  have a Under 16's team from the Phoenix Club this forth coming season 2011/12 due to them not having enough players signed on

In order to avoid games clashing with the league fixtures scheduled for January 21st 2012, the 2nd roun d of the League cup for the U16's has been moved forward a week to the 14th January.

Exeter City Football in the Community are running a Futsal Scholars programme, which integrates a full time education programme, with that of Futsal. This is aimed at post 16 school graduates.

In case anyone asks for further information on Futsal, which is still a relatively new concept in the UK. I have attached a booklet.

Just a quick reminder about re-arranging games - All re-arangements that have been agreed between maangers need to be with the league Secretary by 19th August.

Also to remind all managers, the reason for the period of time given for re-arrangements is so as all involved can work dates out before the season starts as some weekends will not be suitable for teams - Up until the deadline re-arrangements will not have to be supported by any reasoning, however once the deadline has passed normal rules for re-arranging games will come into play.

It saddens me to announce that I have been officially notified of the loss of two teams before the season has even started and it is almost certain there will be a 3rd casualty in the coming days.  In the Under 16s Division 1 Westexe Rangers and Under 14s Division 3 Tiverton Town have both had to withdraw due to a lack of players.  I hope that all the players involved who remain do find themselves new clubs/teams to play with in the near future.

UPD|ATE: Just received confirmation Exeter Panthers U15's promotion winners from last season have also withdrawn from the league due to lack of players.

We are based just a couple of miles outside of Exeter and are looking to add new players to strengthen the existing squad for next season. 

We have had a wonderful first season in the league (finishing 9th out of 32 ) and only losing to the eventual finalists in the cup quarter-final.

Early days yet, but the preparations for the 2011/12 season have started in earnest behind the scenes ( that said I am hoping to have a few weeks of peace and quiet during July ... PLEASE :)).

As some of you will have already noticed the Divisional splits, pairings for younger age groups andfixtures are now on the website. I have endeavoured to accommodate as many requests as possible in terms of dates for fixtures, but no doubt I will not have got it right for everybody.

As per last season you now have a period of time UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON FRIDAY 19TH AUGUST to make changes to your fixtures - Please ensure that you mutually agree any changes with the oppostion before you send in the re-arranged fixture sheet to me - ALL RE-ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON THE FORM - I WILL NOT ACCEPT TEXT MESSAGES THIS YEAR.

The season start date is 3rd September 2011 - so can all club secretaries please makes sure they have all their paperwork in order, ID cards sorted and players registered before the start of the season.

The results of the vote  as discussed at the AGM concerning the format for the Under 12's for next season are now finalised as ALL votes were to be in by midnight last Sunday. 

The Vote has concluded that the 2011/12 season for Under 12s will be played as per Option 3 of the vote.  

This means the Under 12s for the 2011/12 season will play 11 v 11 with intermediate goals (16' x7') with the pitch length being from 6yd box to 6yd box on a full width pitch and full football association rules (offside). 

The League will be looking to introduce the 9v9 format on the smaller pitches with intermediate goals for the 2012/13 season.

 Of division 2 are rebuilding and require 3 new players for the upcoming season. Enthusiasm and Commitment more important than ability with the emphasis on enjoying your football,please call Nick Rush on 01404 823209 evenings.

The emphasis in our coaching/training is on individual ball skills to encourage players to want the ball and feel increasingly comfortable once they have it, in game situations.

The FA is pleased that the resolution to amend its Rules to extend mixed football in the U13 age group received approval from The FA Shareholders at the AGM today (25 May).

The resolution was fully supported by The FA Board, FA Executive and FA Council and the result means that girls and boys will be able to play in the same teams at U12 and U13 level from next season (2011-12).

 Heavitree YFC will be holding taster sessions very shortly in June/July to look for the next batch of budding young footballers to play at U/7s level next season. We are looking to seek out new players looking to join our friendly club and start to develop their footballing ability. These sessions are dated for Saturday 18th June, 2nd July & 16th July, 10am at Ladysmith Junior School.

The taster sessions will be held by qualified coaches, who have all been CRB checked. Can I just remind all managers about the protocols of signing players from another team. If you are looking to sign players on and you are aware they play for another team - you cannot just approach them and ask them to play for you. You must follow the transfer protocols or you will run the risk of being reported to the FA and your club may be penalised.

We are based just a couple of miles outside of Exeter and are looking to add new players (particularly defenders) to strengthen the existing squad for next season. 

We have had a wonderful first season in the league (finishing 9th ) and losing to eventual finalists in the cup quarter-final. We are a friendly club on and off the field and would welcome new players to attend our training sessions on Saturday mornings.  We have our own pitch and have a really good set-up.

Well another season has come to a close and whilst you all put your feet up for a while we will be working hard behind the scenes getting everything ready for next season which is going to be even bigger (and hopefully at least as good as this season). I have had the privilege of watching countless games this season spanning from U7's to U15's and I have to say that I have on the whole been astounded by the quality of football I have seen across all the age groups.

It would be fair to say that we clearly have some of the Devons best footballing teams in the league as shown by Brixington Blues U15's win in the County cup and Tiverton Town narrowly missing out when they came runners up in the U14's county Cup. As league Secretary it fills me with pride knowing those players are a part of our League.  

The spell of bad weather and snow caused a little scare, but thankfully, with the co-operation shown between managers and the league all the games were finished by the 30th April deadline... so thank you and well done to you all. Whilst saying thank you's to all of you that have sent in emails thanking the league officers for their efforts this season, I would like to reciprocate and say Thank You to all the managers, parents, helpers and most of all the players for making this a truly memorable season. 

The Plate and cup finals threw up some interesting results, and some quality performances from the teams involved, every game was a joy to watch (and I watched them all), but there are two highlights that I can pick out, Brixington Blues U15's V Westexe Rangers - 10-15 minutes to play, the game is at 0 - 0 looking like going to extra time and then 6 goals to make it an incredible climax to the game.

The other highlight for me came in the very last game at ECFC with less than 2 minutes of extra time left to play a shot from range by the Moors striker floated into the top of the net, it wasn't the goal but the moment that was so memorable, as soon as the ball was struck I knew it was a goal and their was a momentary silence which seemed to last an age before the Moors supporters erupted.

A fantastic season for Brixington Blues who only dropped 7 points in the League  all season whilst remaining unbeaten in all other competitions to achieve the treble securing the League Title, League Cup and the Devon County Title, doing themselves and the League proud.

Promotion hunters Alphington do it in style and finish the season unbeaten, congratulations to them

An incredibly tight U14's Division 1 finished with only 1 point between the top 3 teams with the  run in seeing St Martins win their last 13 games, 13 was their unlucky number though as it was by 13 - 0 that Stoke Hill won the last game of the season to secure 2^nd place on goal difference. With a solid all round season Tiverton narrowly missed out on the treble, losing in the County Cup but ensuring they took all the league Honours only losing one game in the league and finishing off the season with a well earnt victory at ECFC in the League Cup final.

Congratulations to Exeter Panthers who will be playing in the top flight along with Alphington and West Exe next season. The 3 teams will be swapping places with the three teams that were promoted last season, which shows just what a tough division the U14's Div 1 is.

Another great season for Stoke Hill, who finished their league campaign unbeaten only dropping 2 points.  They didn't quite manage the double as they were narrowly beaten in a thrilling  League Cup final that saw St Martins eventually run out winners with a 2 -1 score line.

Congratulations to  Colyton on gaining promotion in their first season with the League and CW Dynamoes who have bounced straight back up after dropping down last season.

Another story of a team not losing a game as Sidmouth Vikings are crowned Div 1 champions, but the plaudits for achievement should also go to Moors who followed their promotion winning season by doing the double beating 1^st division Newton Abbot 66 1 - 0 in the dying minutes of extra time to win the league Cup

Pinhoe Spears win the League and the League Cup in a game that had to be decided on penalties after neither side could break down the others defences in extra time.

Some fantastic performances this season from all the teams in the Under 10's , but a special mention should go to division toppers, Whipton Youth who scored an amazing 200 goals this season.

It was tight at the top and the cup final was no different as the top two teams faced each other in a tense but thrilling game that saw both teams give everything but they just could not break down the defences or beat the keeper, so the Cup was shared between the two teams.

As the U/7s season came to the end at the weekend I would just like to give mention to all managers of the respective teams, who participated in making it successful.

The U7s format has been such a success and provided some quality football whilst given all players involved a chance to play matches against other teams of equal quality. A mixed bag of happenings this weekend have complelled me to put this message on the website.

Now the Bad:
I have officially be notified this afternoon that Brixington United U15's have had to withdraw from the League, at any stage of the season this saddens me, but more so that we are so close to the end of the season, many thanks to Simon Manning for all his efforts holding everything together for so long and here's hoping that the lads who remain will find clubs to go and play for.

Finally the Ugly:
For the past few weeks I have been inundated with reports of referees, club officials and players being abused or even worse physically assaulted. I cannot stress how distressing this is to hear. A huge amount of work goes into arranging matches every week by decent people who simply want to ensure that the players can play football in a safe, secure and fair environment, likewise behind the scenes the volunteers who run the league have to deal with these issues and ensure every incident is investigated and dealt with correctly, this takes up an enormous amount of time and is TOTALLY unnecessary. We all have a duty of care towards the children and equally a duty to show respect to officials - if you have people within your club that are not able to abide by a simple set of rules (that are at the end of the day common sense and common decency) then I would urge you to report those individuals to the League.

The final straw that has urged me to write this message was a report of a set of under 10's games where parents, players and management reportedly continually abused the parent who was officiating in a set of games over the wekend.

My advice to those people is STOP and STOP NOW, you should feel ashamed of yourselves, this sort of  behaviour will not be tolerated and every possible measure will be taken to ensure these individuals are sought out and penalised accordingly, which could potentially see the clubs being asked to impose matchday bans on the parents or worse.

Remember this League is YOUR LEAGUE - let's ensure it is one that you and everybody else is proud to be a part of.

The International Football Association Board held their Annual meeting at the Celtic Manor Hotel in Newport, Wales on Saturday 5^th March. 

At that meeting it was decided that Snoods (Neck Scarves) that some players wear could constitute a danger to themselves if an opponent pulled them and were not part of the Basic Equipment as outlined under Law 4 - Players Equipment. 

Therefore, with immediate effect players are not allowed to wear these garments and I would ask you to inform your management/playing staff of this decision.

After a fantastic display of football by all teams involved, supported bya large crowd at Coach Road, we have our finalists for the League Cup for the U9s and U10s.

In the Unders 9's CS Tigers progressed by beating Pinhoe Trojans 2 -1, they  will meet Brixington Blues who beat West hill Wasps 4 - 0.

The Under 10's final will be contested by West Exe Exiles and Exmouth Amateurs after the Exiles beat Stoke Hill 2 - 1 and the Ammies beat Whipton Youth 1- 0.

There will be a £1 parking fee on the day, so can all managers make sure their parents are aware of this to prevent any unnecessary aggrovation.

Next Sunday Cullompton will be hosting the U15's.

The Registrations Officer has reported that a large amount of teams that played in the League Cup, have not submitted sheets for the 2nd round games, there is no real excuse for this!! if you played in the league Cup quarter finals this weekend - then you MUST submit your form in exactly the same fashion as a league game.

We will be investigating and scrutinising all sheets to ensure all players are registered, any teams found to have played ineligible players are likely to be excluded from the league Cup competition. if you are in any doubt regarding a players eligibility to play then CHECK FIRST with Carole.

The Under 10s Plate competition has had to be postponed - As there is no alternative venue it is hoped tha the Competition will take place at Moorhayes next Sunday 6th March.

At the request of Leisure East Devon Ltd Devon FA are running a Level 1 Football Coaching Course at Sidmouth Sports Centre commencing on Friday evening 8^th April. 

Unfortunately there is a slow 'take up' of candidates. All  clubs should have had notification already. For those clubs that are not already Chartered Standard this is a good opportunity for their personnel, who need their level 1, to qualify without having to travel very far.

It has been brought to the attention of the league that there are teams out there that are playing players who have no current Id Cards for the following reasons. This is not the same as not exchanging cards on matchdays. The clubs involved have ALL been identified by Devon FA and will be facing hefty penalties - if you think you are one of these clubs then you MUST contact Mark Buley at devon FA without delay.

• 1. They are using old expired ID cards
• 2. They have not applied to Devon FA for an ID Card 

Each and every player of the league has to have an ID card in order to play. ALL teams should be exchanging cards prior to the start of the game, this should take place between each of the two coaches. If a player plays for another league in addition to our league they still should have a card. There are now teams playing players who do not comply with the above and are under currently investigation with Devon FA.

WOULD ALL TEAMS AND CLUBS PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE AN ID CARD FOR ALL OF YOUR PLAYERS, IN ORDER TO AVOID ANY POSSIBLE FINES, WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. 

NO player can play unless they have a card or have an emergency form signed by a member of the league which covers them for 14 days. 

Please submit your requests to Mark Buley at Devon FA with a copy of a current up to date photo and players details. The cost will be £2 failure to comply with be a lot more. 

Devon FA are currently in the process of supplying Carole Johnson - League Registration Secretary with a list of players who have id cards for each club and team, this will be checked off against the player database that we currently hold.

New Player Registration Forms, would all coaches please ensure that they check when signing any new player whether they have played for any other club, if so a transfer form need completing, and as you are all aware the transfer window closes shortly.

The Under 9s, U10s, U11s, U12s, U13s and U14s Plate days are all fixed for Sunday the 27th February.

 The Under 15's Plate Competition Day is now organised for Sunday 6th March.

Before I finalise all the fixtures for each age group can ALL MANAGERS check the relevant page to see if they are involved and if you are UNABLE to field a team let me know without delay in order that the fixtures are worked out correctly and it is extremely frustrating for organisers when teams simply do not turn up on the day.

No doubt everybody is now aware of the desperate plight our member clubs are in regarding the potential actions of Exeter City Council that will effect ALL youth and Senior  football throughout the region directly or indirectly and it is important that everybody's voice is heard regarding the matter to ensure the council and it's sub committees are made aware of the full ramifications of their actions.

This Tuesday we have our League meeting and in attendance will be Devon FA representatives, Galvin Short from Exeter City Council, whom many of you will know and deal with directly and Paul McCormick Head of Contracts & Direct Services at Exeter City Council.

Obviousl ythis is a League meeting and we will endeavour to get all the footballing issues out of the way in double quick time to ensure that all those in attendance can have an opportunity to listen/debate with the Council representatives.

With all the bad weather the League Management Committee have taken the decision to extend the season so the last day of the season on which League games can be played will now be Saturday 30th April .

All teams that utilise Council run pitches will need to liase with the relevant people to ensure pitches will be available prior to re-scheduling games as some pitches will not be available on the 23rd of April.

Please remember - if both managers are mutually agreeable you can play your games at other times/days than the set 10:30 Sat Morning KO (e.g afternoons, Sundays etc). BUT BOTH TEAMS MUST BE IN AGREEMENT

King George V plateau area, where the mini and intermediate pitches are looks fine but the full size pitches are not so good. Pitches 2, 4 and 5 are out and 6 will go with more rain. Heavitree Youth on pitch three should be fine.

Hamlin is benefitting from the breeze and the lack of forecasted rain. Stoke Hill on pitches 3 and 4 should be fine but pitch 2 is on a fine line and Pinhoe on 1 will require a look in the morning. Again if it rains this one will be doubtful.

JANUARY 2011 NEWS

Happy New year to one and all, hopefully we will have seen the back of most of the bad weather so the players can get back to playing football. Anyhow it has been a while since my last email so this one is a bumper edition (sorry).

Tuesday evening (5 Jan) we held the first open forum for Club Secretaries and Chair people, which considering the amount of clubs not represented turned out to be a very useful and hopefully informative meeting. I will try to let you know  the things that were discussed and hopefully at your next club committee meeting those that attended will be able to give you the full story.

Plate Competition

The Plate competition is one of the things that makes the league unique and a competition that we will always try to continue at all allowable age groups. This year the intention was to have a preliminary round on the 12^th February, with the round robin plate day played on the 26^th February, however due to the extreme weather we have experienced that has prevented several weekends of football, the decision was taken that we WILL NOT have the preliminary round on the 12^th, which will free up another weekend for those teams involved.

Volunteer Clubs Required for the Plate Days

With the round robin stage of the Plate Competition we need clubs to volunteer to hold the day.

Each age group will require x2 pitches of the normal size they play with in order that two games can be played simultaneously. The League Secretary will work out the fixtures for each age group once all the teams are known (using a random generation method, so there is no bias towards any team).

The day can be either the Saturday or the Sunday of the weekend 26^th/27^th Feb, Sundays will not suit everybody, but if it is the case that it can only be held on a Sunday then it will have to be so.

From each age group there will be two winners on the day (format is yet to be confirmed), those winners will then go through to play each other in the Plate Cup final as shown below

New Teams

Already we have enquiries for u15s from the Newton Abbot/Torquay area as well as the younger age groups, which added to the Under 16's and Under 17's we will be running next season both of which have already attracted enormous support, I think we are looking at another exciting season with the league continually evolving, not just in numbers and age groups but also in the ideas and formats we want to offer. 

Festival Day

As part of our commitment and continued development of the Charter Standard programme we will be holding an invitation only Transitional Festival day for teams that are currently in the Leagues Under 10 age group where they will have the opportunity to play 9 v9 to give them a flavour of what to expect once they start the 2011/12 season - the date and venue of this is yet to be confirmed.

Under 7's - 4V4 / 5V5

This year we have introduced Under 7s to the League it is a small group of five teams playing a round robin style each time they meet and from the feedback we have received it has been a great success. 

We have been busy in the background speaking with Mark Young from the Devon FA about ways in which we may be able to help the young ones get into the game and more importantly get real enjoyment from it at the same time.  Mark has done a great deal of research into this area of football and the findings are really quite exciting and an idea we will be discussing with you all at the next League meeting is the viability of us starting the Under 7s off playing 4v4 or 5v5 instead of the current 7v7 . Small Sided Football Study

Representative sides @ u14's, U15's and U16's for 2011/12 season

2011/12 will see the League re-introducing Representative sides at the U14, U15 and U16 age groups. The idea is really to give the lads another opportunity to shine.

The full details of how the selection processes will work are yet to be determined and will probably be down to the management teams to decide how they want to make their selections, it would more than likely mean the lads playing 4 game potentially against a League from Gloucester, Dorset, Somerset and Cornwall.

We have already been approached by two managers who will be looking to run the U14s Representative side but we will also need suitably qualified managers/coaches to run the other age groups. Getting involved will not just mean turning up for a game, there will no doubt be training, trails and organising the lads, so if you are thinking of putting your name forward, please be aware it will bea big commitment. it is with great sadness that I have to inform everybody , we have lost Whipton Under 11's who played in the 3rd division. They were continually struggling for numbers and the deciion was taken as it  was not fair to those starting each week with a depleted team.  All results and fixtures that featured the team have been expunged from the records.

Can all managers make sure they inform the league Secretary if their game(s) are postponed. Even if you play on council pitches you must inform the league in the same way as you would if a result was to be reported ... and don't foget the re-arrangement form within 7 days as well please.

King George V pitches 1,2,3,4 and 5 are closed. 

Bettysmead, Bromhams Farm, Wonford and the King Georges plateau, pitches 6 and 7 and the mini soccer pitches are subject to inspection in the morning as the usual route of contacting the Arena circa 9am applies. Pinhoe are carrying out their own inspection at Station Road in the morning as they have a different type of Licence with us. The rugby pitches will be looked at as well. 

We have had nine consecutive frosts on the pitches and consistently low temperatures. Although the tops might look lush and playable every probe that was taken at lunchtime showed frost was consistent just below the surface. This means any thawing expected today has not happened and consequently the grass is all there is. With this type of ground condition the potential to lose a large percentage of the grass cover is very high. Allied to this is the forecast for next week. If it does freeze as forecast all of the damage done to the grass cover will not be rectified until the next substantial thaw. If that happens to be Christmas week the New Year will start with further cancellations.

Hi All, so far this season the League have been extremely lenient with those not supplying new dates for games that require re-arranging. When a game is postponed (for whatever reason) it is the responsibilty of the home team manager to liase with the opposition and ensure that the League Secretary is informed (AS PER HANDBOOK) within 7 days of the original date. This has been explained numerous times in the past that the game does not have to be played within 7 days - simply that the new date has to be set after mutual agreement with the opposition.

So to explain if a  the game is postponed this weekend then the League Secretary should be informed of a new date before the next Saturday.

All those with fixtures to re-arrange from previous weeks have now had more than 7 days to inform the Secretary, however they will be given an extension until Wednesday of this coming week, afer which time if no agreed date is recieved then RULE 11 (d) will be used.

All Exeter City Pitches are out of bounds this weekend due to the ice/snow/weather.

can all home team managers who play on Exeter city Council pitches ensure they let the leage Secreatary, oppostion and officials know their game is postponed ASAP. Can all the home team managers also ensure that they inform the League Secretary of the new date within 7 days of the postponement.

Exeter and District Youth League - Kentisbeare U12's

They have stuck together from a very young age and last season they did not win anything, they stuck together and the fruits of their labout have started to show through and they have won there first few games of 2010/11.

Its not just the fact they won those matches but the fact that all their hardwork and togetherness has paid off following a tough year last year. Kentisbeare are proof that hardwork by players and coaches will equal success

The Registrations Officer has reported that a large amount of Managers are sending in paperwork that requires a reply. If Managers do not put a stamped addressed envelope with their emergency form, transfers, or player registrations then they will not get confirmation back. She has had a huge number of emergency forms through her door and in the post, but with no SAE they will not be Actioned or Sent back.

The Seaton Town u13s of 2009/10 season being presented with their cheques for £200 and their medals for winning the FA Fair Play Award at the Exeter City v Rochdale game, following their nomination by the League.

Whipton under 11's are looking for players to bolster their squad. The lads have in recent weeks started with 7 players due to a lack of numbers, so they are really looking for players who want to get a game every week. Today John and I attended Exeter City's home game, along with representatives from the Devon FA we were proud to present the Seaton U14's with their award (and cheque for £200) for winning the FA Fairplay award for the 2009/10 season. The League nominated Seaton above all others for their outstanding attitude and the nomination was accepted as the best from all the league in the South West .... Congratulations to the Seaton lads and the Management.

Further to the excitement of the the half time presentation to the players, it was officially confirmed that our Chairman John Penkethman was the scorer of the very last goal from the penalty spot before the pitch was relaid at Exeter City's St James Park ground  ( at the League Finals day held at the end of last season). Well done John!

Marc Astley, the editor, has had a long meeting with his sports and IT teams. Talking through the problems and various solutions that have been suggested by people like ourselves. They have decided to create an online form for correspondents to fill in that will link directly into their editorial software system.

This will require certain categories to be completed and will also automatically limit the word count. Any submissions failing to meet the basic criteria will be rejected. Unlike the league, which I try to run like a business, the E&E is a business. Time is money. The new system when set up and tested will save a lot of time. Marc is hoping that an improved service will resume soon. He thanks us for our patience and support.

I think fairs fair, if we do our bit right, the E&E will do their bit, too. Marc will keep us in the loop and as soon as we have any news we will let you all know. Watch this space!!!

LET'S get one thing straight right from the start - the Express & Echo has no plans to permanently cease publishing youth football match reports and results.However, we have a problem with the information being provided to us.

Although some reports are very good, others can either lack detail or are far too long. At the other end of the scale are those that appear sporadically or are non-existent. Our sports desk has, thankfully, become increasingly busy, due to the success of the Chiefs and Exeter City but, for the reasons I have outlined, they are having to spend a disproportionate amount of time piecing together the Youth Football page.

Although many people are happy to help us provide the service our readers obviously want and cherish, others seem to think that this sort of information somehow magically appears and they need play no part in its dissemination.

Several letter writers have complained that we would be ignoring our community responsibility by not carrying Youth Football reports and results. I agree.

But community means everyone - and therefore we all have a role to play.

Thankfully, several people have responded positively to the situation and a meeting will take place tomorrow in an attempt to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, there is absolutely no question that this newspaper, as some have suggested, is disinterested in young people.

We currently hold the title of the World Association of Newspapers Young Readers' Newspaper of the Year which was awarded to us in recognition of our work with children.

In July we received an accolade from Children and Young People Now magazine for the best local press coverage of young people's issues.

And next week we will be staging our first ever Teen Awards which will recognise the positive contribution young people make to society.

Interestingly, despite the sports category being the most hotly contested, we did not receive a single nomination for a youth league player.

And here seems to be the rub. Far too many people seem to prefer to shout abuse from the touchlines, rather than joining the team.

The result is a breakdown in communication, a lack of cohesion and the loss, on this occasion, of something everyone appreciates.

The League were informed during the week that the Express & Echo will no longer be publishing reports for any youth football. As a one of the Premier Youith Football Leagues in the South West with over 4,500 players, many of whom look forward to reading the reports in the local press we find this extremely disappointing.  We have already been contacted by a number of parents and managers of team within the league who have expressed their dismay at the situation.

As it is a local newspaper, which covers local news and sport we feel very strongly that  this decision should be opposed and reversed. Many of the parents and friends of the players in the League buy the newspaper on Tuesdays (myself included) to see the reports and photos of the lads.

During the game at Colyton U15's yesterday, a serious injury was sustained by a Westexe Rangers player (no other players were involved) . I have been asked to pass on my thanks to the guys at Colyton yesterday especially the chap that called the ambulance and the man who waited very patiently to close the gates after the ambulance crew dealt with the player whilst parked on their pitch!! (it was probably nearly an hour after the game finished)!!

I know the parents of the lad very well and they have said it is a hip injury that will take time to mend, but fingers crossed it won't keep him out of the game for too long.

Just to reiterate, thank you to all involved on behalf of the player, parents and the League.

As it was the first full weekend of the season we realise that some of the form filling etc is going to be alien to some people and it will take some getting used to.

However the ability to read is hopefully something the managers are blessed with.

COMPETITIVE AGE GROUP MATCH DAY RESULTS SHEETS 

A number of these have been sent ot the League Secretary, please read the paragraph at the bottom of every sheet - it tells you where to send them ( TO CAROLE).

There has been a large amount of information not filled in on the forms including for some 

• No shirt numbers
• No Scores
• No Goals scored against names of scorers
• No Ref name and fee
• No sportsmanship points

If  the forms are not filled in  the correctly with all the  information you risk a fine.

Furthr to the above Carole has received blue and pink copies as well as whites.

ONLY THE WHITE COPIES ARE TO BE SENT TO CAROLE - THE BLUE COPY IS TO BE GIVEN TO THE OPPOSITION PRIOR TO THE START OF THE GAME (AS IT STATES ON THE BLUE COPY), THE PINK COPY IS FOR YOU TO KEEP IN CASE OF ANY DISPUTE.

EACH MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SENDING IN THEIR OWN TEAMS WHITE COPY.

As some teams in the competitive age groups will be aware, there are currently not enough qualified referees listed with the League to cover ever game each weekend.

If you are the home team manager and you are not appointed a referee by the League then you MUST make every effort to gain the services of a qualified referee for your game.

If you are unable to get an offical yourself and it ends up with a competent person officiating then in the interests of the game and for fairness the opposition should be offered the opportunity to supply a referee for one half of the match.

Last season the League were asked to nominate a team who they thought were fitting to be put forward as a nominee for the FA Fair Play Award for 2009/2010 and is supported by the FA youth Trust. 

Seaton U13s were nominated for their continual display of sportsmanship throughout the season and I am absolutely delighted to inform you all that Seaton U13's deservedly won this very prestigious award. 

The presentation to the team will be made  on Saturday 2^nd October at St James Park at the Exeter City V Rochdale game where the team  will receive 15 commemorative medals and a cheque for £200.

As the fastest growing league in the South West with an increase of over 50 teams from the 2009/10 season, the League is working towards gaining League Charter Status for this season and will be further expanding to include U16s and U17s for the 2011/12 season, so we would very much like as many officals to come onboard and share in the success that the Leagues clubs and players have been instrumental in make happen.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the session that Russ and Carole were going to hold tomorrow evening for those who are unsure about their paperwork for the coming season has had to be CANCELLED.  If you are worried or think you do need assistance with the league paperwork please call either Carole or Russ and they will endeavour to guide you through it.

Notification was received yesterday from Willand Rovers Under 12s that they would be withdrawing from the League. All teams that would have been playing them now have those weekends free so if you are able to move games FORWARD then please do so.

When the draw for round two of the League Cup takes place, the team drawn against Willand will be given a bye into the quarter finals

We have been inundated with queries regarding the ID cards that the Devon FA are issuing for each individual player. No clubs have as yet recieved any ID cards, this is in a large part due to Devon FA being let down by its card suppliers.

As you can no doubt appreciate witha League the size of yours, issuing emergency ID forms for every player ( in excess of 4,750 players) is not a feasible way to deal with the situation and pretty much a logistical impossibility for the League volunteers to process in time. we have had to make a decision on the most suitable way to deal with this issue which is shown below

ID CARDS ISSUE:

The League decision is that NO ID Cards will be required to be shown until the games being played on the Saturday October 9th 2010 . This is not a signal for teams to openly attempt to abuse the ID Card system, every other rule applicable to players, teams and clubs will remain intact. ALL players will be required to be registerd for the team they are playing in with the League, and checks will be made on the results sheets that are submitted to esnsure all names match up to a valid league registration.

Any teams found to be feilding ineligible players will face the maximum penalty we can issue.

This is clearly not an ideal situation / solution, but as a League we stand united in saying that we will not have the players and teams penalised for issues which are out of their hands.

Final reminder, if you have not as yet submitted ID Card details to Devon FA - DO SO NOW -  as they will be no further amnesty once Devon FA have issued the cards ( other than temporary ID forms for any stragglers awaiting cards)

Cheriton Fitzpaine youth team & we are looking for some under 11's teams both boys & girls to come & play in a friendly tournament before the leagues.

There will also be a bar, ice cream van & bar-b-q. As a small village club we're looking to make it a fun event for teams to enjoy before the seriousness of any leagues starting! I am disappointed with the apathy of some managers who have left things to the last minute thinking that it would 'all be OK' with regards to fixtures.

All dates/changes for league games and preliminary cup rounds should have been notified to me by Midnight last night - Everybody has had at least 6 weeks to sort these details out -

I will allow up until the midnight on Friday for concrete changes to be notified to me, after which time whatever dates are in place will be the dates that games MUST be played on and there will be absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS.

As I'm sure you're all aware, Exeter City football player Adam Stansfield sadly passed away on 10th August aged 31.  I approached the commitee to get their views on naming the U9's cup and plate after Adam. The reason I have chosen the U9's age groups as opposed to any other is purely due to the fact that the number nine is the shirt that Adam played in. Each member of the commitee said they approved 100%. Ironically, when you speak to people about Adam they often say that he always gave 100% in everything that he did. 
 
I didn't know Adam but from what I have heard he was a very inspiring person. Steve Perryman, Director of football at Exeter City said Adam was a true team player and a great friend. Dave Bennett, Chairman of Exeter City Supporters Club said "Everyone loves a striker that gives 100% every game and that's exactly what Stanners did, he ran for 90 minutes non-stop and he gave everything to this football club." I would love for Managers to try to instill these qualities in their squad members and the cup and plate being named after him is a great way to remind them of the merits that made Adam the respected player that he was.
 
On Saturday I visited the park to pay my respects and I bumped into Julian Tagg. I spoke to him about our plans to name the cup and plate after Adam and soon I will speak with Adams family.
 
Adam epitomised all that's good about football when played with passion and decency. I'm sure you will join me in giving my sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time.

Due to ill health Paul, our photographer whom I am sure many of you will have met last season is unable to continue with his role - On behalf of the league and all the teams he visited last season I would like to say a huge thank-you and wish him all the best for the future.

With Paul leaving we are now in need of somebody else to take on the role, it maybe that we have several people interested in helping out.

The role involves receiving request via the website and the League Secretary to attend games and send in photos once the game is over. It is a voluntary role and one which should not be taken lightly as there is it is a big commitment and will involve liaising with managers and travelling around on Saturdays.

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that we have not put any midweek fixtures into the beginning of the season. The main reason being that we felt it inappropriate to put any pressure on teams  who use council run pitches that are amongst other reasons reserved for senior teams during the week. 

To re-affirm though, we are very happy for fixtures to be moved forward and for teams to play midweek games if they are able to at the early part of the season.

It will be a good way for you to try and avoid postponements due to  the inevitable bad weather we will have.

As promised the fixtures are now published and on the website. Those of you who attended the AGM will be aware that I did say there will probably be some clashes with so many clubs sharing pitches at different age groups. I have looked at as many scenarios as possible but as you can imagine it is an almost impossible task to make sure everybody is happy. That is why I have tried to get the fixtures out in plenty of time to allow you guys (and girls) to liaise with each other and sort out any issues between yourselves to ensure you can get the games played.

For those of you needingto make changes - there area couple of rules of engagement you need to bear in mind .... the new date must be agreed by the opposition, do not simply think you can change it and all will be OK. 

You will also need to send the league Secretary the Postponement form in order that the changes can be made (available on the forms page).

The tournament is this coming Saturday at Rockbeare 10.00 to 5.00 approx, 7 a side format.

"This new season coming will be the number 15 for the league, and my 13th as Chairman. I would like to take this opportunity to talk about the committee. The enthusiasm, total commitment and professionalism we have is truly infectious. 

The amount of new team's that want to join our league shows how popular we are. The bigger the league the bigger the workload, it is with this mind that I have asked Rob Thorne on to the committee. 

Rob will be the Referee's Officer. I have asked Julie to move over to carry on the good work Nigel Doe started and Julie will become the Charter Coordinator. The addition of Rob I believe will improve what is a very good committee, at the AGM I ask you to ratify this. 

When someone new comes along to be on the committee I need to know if they will fit in with the rest of us, and they are not going to be one season wonders. Having known Rob for 15 year's he fit's the bill perfectly."

A gentle reminder that the league AGM is on Monday 21st June at 7.30PM - Venue is the Flybe Suite at ECFC. All clubs must be represented, any clubs not present will need to give written notice at least 48 hours prior to the AGM to the League Secretary.

The Agenda for this years AGM can be found on the web site on the Meetings page - please ensure you print a copy to bring to the meeting.  There are no big surprises with the Agenda, and only two items for AOB which I have been notified.

The new rule book for 2010/11 which has been scrutinised  by Devon FA is also available via the website, should you have any issues regarding the rules, we will allow a period of time for comments during the meeting.

There have been no nominations recieved in regard to any of the main Committee positions, and two positions where new faces have been added will require ratification.

We have five new clubs entered into the league at various ages for the coming season, so we will be introducing those clubs to you on the night.

A resolution to amend The FA Rules that would extend mixed football to the under 13 age group did not receive the required number of votes for approval by The FA Shareholders at The FA's AGM on May 19.

Despite receiving approval from The FA Executive and FA Council, the result means that the proposal to allow girls to play in boys' teams at the under 12s and under 13s age groups from next season (2010-11) cannot now be sanctioned.

The current Stoke Hill Celtic under 10 team have lost 3 players who have graduated to Exeter City Youth for the coming season. So, Stoke Hill Celtic are recruiting replacements for their under 11 team next season. Any boys currently in year 5 at school who would like to join, please call David Evans on 01392 660794.

So as all member clubs are aware, we have had expressions of interest by numerous U16's (current U15's) from the Juventus League (as well as others) wanting to join the Exeter & District Youth League  for the 2010/11 season, we have informed them they should  wait and see what happens with the Juventus League AGM this coming  Friday before they make an actual and educated decision about what will be best for their players/team/club.

As the Exeter & District League have always maintained if teams  wish to switch from the E & D Youth League  to any other league they will always have the Leagues blessing, equally if they wish to enter into the fold the warm welcome will be extended".

Culm Sampford United Youth FC (CS UNITED for short) are interested in new players for the new season and new coaches. 

The club will be running U7/8/9/10/12/13/14 in the Exeter & District Youth League for 2010-2011. 

We welcome new coaches and Culm Sampford has a policy of paying the fees for our coaches who attend FA Level 1 and Level 2 courses, Devon or Somerset.

The weekend saw some amazing games of football of the highest quality, played in the true spirit of the game. The results for all the finals are below, but winners and runners up alike every player that took part should be proud of their acheivement.

A huge thank you to all the managers, club officials, parents and those behind the scenes people who never get  a thanks they deserve, for making this weekend of football at two great venues something the league can look back on with a huge amount of pride.

The Tiverton Town Tournament which is being held this weekend - 8^th and 9^th Supporting the Meningitis Trust, now has a place for another Under 8's 6-aside team. Unfortunately one of the teams who have entered at the U8's age group had to pull out at very short notice. 

THE Under 8's section of the tournament takes place on the Sunday morning and all players will get a participation medal and get to play a minimum of 5 games.

The race for the league title will go right to the last day of the season after Crediton won the battle of the top two when they beat league leaders Phoenix Club 6-0.
UNDER 13'S DIVISION ONE
With only one league defeat all season Tiverton Town are the first division champions.
UNDER 13'S DIVISION TWO
Well done to Culm Utd who are the second division champions after they beat Exwick 6-1.
UNDER 13'S DIVISION THREE
Alphington Tigers are the third division champions. While Topsham Town will finish runners up.
UNDER 12'S DIVISION ONE
Brixington Blues are division one champions. Runners up spot is still up for grabs, St Martins are in second spot but can still be caught by Honiton Town.

Still everything to play for in the race for the division two title. Cullompton are top of the table but can still be over taken by Ottery who are in second spot and West Exe who are in third.
UNDER 11'S DIVISION ONE
Newton Abbot are the first division champions. The runners up spot is filled by Sidmouth Town.

With two games each to play Culm and Cullompton are neck and neck at the top. Culm are top on goal difference and two wins should be enough to give them the title.

Its very tight at the top with second place Crediton beating Sidmouth 7-1.Third place Ottery beat Kentisbeare 5-3. Bradninch scraped the 2 - 1 win against much improved Hemyock.

UNDER 13'S DIV 1
 Tiverton Town were held to a 1-1 draw by Sidbury, but the point was enough to assure Tiverton would be crowned Champions. Second place Heavitree beat West Exe Athletic 3-1.Okehampton won 2-0 at St Martins.

UNDER 13S DIV 2
Culm are seven points clear at the top after a 4-0 win against Crediton, but with Brixington's two games in hand it is going to bea very tight run-in for the title. Beacon Knights and Pinhoe drew 2-2.

UNDER 13S DIV 3
 Alphington are the new leaders of the division after a 6-2 win at Feniton.Topsham dropped to second place after a 2-1 home defeat by Sidmouth and with the two top teams on level points this is going to be another thrilling run-in. Other results saw Central beat Ottery 4-2, Cullompton won 2-1 at Seaton, while Tedburn beat FC Newton 6-1.

UNDER 12S DIV 1
Honiton moved into second place with a 5-3 win at Central, none of the other teams played today, but the desire for 2^nd place is heating up with the teams in 2nd - 5^th places all challenging.

Hemyock beat Sidmouth Raiders 3-2. West Exe also beat Feniton by the same scoreline.
West Hill and Heavitree drew 3-3.

UNDER 11S DIV 1
 Well done to Thorverton who became the first team to beat  the Division 1 Champions Newton Abbot in the league with a very tight  3-2 Scoreline. Exwick are in third place after a 2-1 win at Twyford, Dawlish won 4-1 at Alphington, Crediton won 2-1 at St Martins and Pinhoe beat Central City 5-0.

UNDER 11S DIV 2
Culm won the battle of the top two when they beat Cullompton 3-1 and with Cullomptons game in hand they will be looking to draw things back level at the top with their next fixture. Third place West Hill closed the gap with a 3-0 win at Pinhoe, Heavitree beat Broadclyst 7-1 while Ottery beat Brixington Utd 7-2.

UNDER 10S
Dawlish won both their games. First they beat Crediton 3-1, then  Tedburn 1-0. St Martins also won both their games, they beat Crediton 1-0 and Tedburn 4-2. Hemyock beat Brixington Blues 2-1.West Hill also beat Brixington Blues 2-0.

UNDER 9S
Exwick closed the gap at the top of the progress chart with two good wins, first they beat Seaton 4-0 they then beat Honiton 12-0. Brixington Blues also won both their games, beating Seaton 2-0 and Honiton 1-0.West Exe Exiles are in fourth place after a good day. They beat Pinhoe Sharks 7-0 and Beacon Knights 9-0.

West Exe Rangers are in third place after a 4-1 win against Pinhoe Sharks and the same scoreline against Beacon Knights. West Hill drew 3-3 with Pinhoe Spartans, in their next game West Hill were beaten 3-1 by Whipton. Twyford Barca lost both their games against Central Utd 1-0 and Central City 7-1.Twyford Madrid beat Central Utd 6-0, but they lost 2-1 to Central City.

We all want to win and being competitive is a great thing, but this Saturday just past saw a level of sportsmanship from Seaton Town U13s that is truly admirable. FC Newton have asked me to say a big thnk you to Seaton publicly for matching the number of players FC Newton had by playing the gme with 10 men. FC Newton actually went on to win the game and I personally salute the Seaton Town players and management for playing the game in the spirit that is so often missed.

Below is amessage I was asked to publish on the web site and without hesitation, I think it is this sort of spirit that shows the great maturity and true footballing nature of the lads in our League.

Tiverton Town handled the incident with the upmost care and competence.

The fact that the majority of the Tiverton players stayed with Ross until he was safely away in the ambulance showed the good spirit between the two teams and what youth football is all about.

Ross is recovering well from his injury and is hoping to be playing again within a few weeks."

UNDER 12'S DIV 2
The top two both won again. Leaders Ottery won 10-0 against Culm. Second place Cullompton won 3-0 at Hemyock. The two Sidmouth sides had a mixed day. The Warriors won 6-3 at Bradninch, while the Raiders were beaten 2-1 at Heavitree.

UNDER 11'S DIV 1
Newton Abbot take over at the top after a 9-2 win against Crediton. Sidmouth drop to second place after losing 1-0 at Twyford. Third place Dawlish won 3-1 at Pinhoe. Alphington are in fourth place after a 2-0 against Exwick. Brixington Blues were 7-1 winners against Central City.

UNDER 11'S DIV 2
The top two both had good wins. First place Cullompton beat Central Utd 11-1, while Culm beat Broadclyst 9-1. Other results saw wins for West Hill who beat Brixington Utd 4-0. Pinhoe were 9-3 winners at Kentisbeare and Stoke Hill beat Heavitree 1-0.

UNDER 10'S
League leaders Stoke Hill Celtic had a mixed day. They beat St Martins 2-0 and then they were beaten by the same scoreline by Dawlish. Stoke Hill Rangers lost both their games against Dawlish and St Martins. Second place West Exe closed the gap at the top with two good wins against the two Pinhoe sides. First they beat the Pikes 4-1,and then the Spears 2-1. Pinhoe Spears got back to winning ways with a 2-1 win against Alphington. Alphington then drew 3-3 with Pinhoe Pikes. C W Dynamoes had a good day at Heavitree, in their first match which was against Inter Heavitree, Dynamoes took the lead when their goalkeeper Liam Western cleared the ball up field. The ball bounced twice before ending up in the Inter net. Tyler Davis made it 1-1 just before half time. The second half belonged to Countess Wear. A Reece Saunders hat trick and a Jake Charlton strike gave them a 5-1 victory. In their next game the Dynamoes beat AC Heavitree 6-0. The goals came from Reece Saunders(3) Jake Charlton (2) and Dan Cunningham (1). In their other game AC Heavitree were 2-0 winners against Whipton. ACs goals came from Jack Kennedy and Jack Hector. In a very close game Inter Heavitree beat Whipton 2-1 with the last kick of the match. Josh Herbert had given Inter the lead, Joe Charles equalized for Whipton. Tyler Davis wrapped up the points for Inter right at the end. Other results saw wins for Beacon Knights, Broadclyst, Sidmouth Warriors and Raiders, Twyford, Exmouth, and Brixington Blues.

UNDER 9'S
Only a few games in this section. Exmouth were double winners against Central Utd, 9-0 and Central City, 4-0.Brixington Blues beat Central Utd 2-1.But they were beaten 5-0 by Central City.

Can ALL HOME TEAM MANAGERS please ensure they contact the match official (referee), if you have a League appointed referee. With the large amount of postponements that have happened due to the weather some referees are not being informed by the hime team of cancellations etc. It is the Home teams responsibility to inform the referee if the game is ON or OFF as per the League handbook ruling. If you do not liaise with the official and they turn up to find the game is off, the home team will be liable for the officials charges.

The easiest way to make sure you keep them informed would be to make sure you get into the routine of calling them on the same evening you call the opposition to let them know all is well for the game (or not as the case may be).

U7's - U15's for 2010/11
Following a League Management Committee meeting last night, we can confirm for the 2010/11 playing season the ED & Y League will be running the following age groups U7s - U15s inclusive.  Expressions of interest to participate in the 2010/11 season for all age groups are now invited and should be sent to the League Secretary.  All clubs who have already informed the League of their intentions need not respond again.

The exact format for the U7s is yet to be decided as it will depend on how many more teams (on top of those who have already expressed an interest) wish to participate. All those who are interetsed will be be informed of the proposed format upon application.

Under 11's for 2010/11
There will be no change in the team sizes for 2010/11 - the format will remain 9 v 9 for all teams in the Under 11's age group

ID Cards and ID Card Renewals
Following talks with the Devon FA, as per the instructions sent out to all clubs. You should return your ID card forms/changes DIRECTLY to Devon FA by the deadline they have set. The League Registrations Officer will only deal with League Registrations, Transfers and issuing of Emergency ID slips in the 2010/11 season. All other correspondence regarding the ID cards should now go directly to Devon FA.

Thankfully somebody has spoken up and let the Devon FA know of our intentions to allow double headers which were mutually agreed as a way of trying to help all the clubs fulfil their fixtures, which has been hugely disrupted by the weather we have had.

Devon County FA has contacted the League to say it is not legal to offer double-headers in the format described on the website. 

Double Headers if allowed mean you can play 2 games on the same day but must be 2 games played separately.

You cannot play one game for double points as this is outlawed by the FA and would result in your league and clubs being charged for breaking FA Rules and carries a very hard punishment. 

This is clearly not possible in youth football without infringing another FA rule. 

So where you have the home and away games remaining against an opposition both games will need to be played.

I realise that this may cause difficulties, but we have are hands tied, and if it is allowed to happen the League and your Clubs would receive hefty fines

Below are all the outstanding fixtures for all competitive age groups - these games MUST be re-arranged, due to some of the below fixtures not having been re-arranged in a timely manner have meant that the club involved have received fines. It is an unnecessary and time. issuing fines is something that is both un-neccasary and time consuming for the League to issue and monitor.

WE DO NOT WANT TO ISSUE FINES, but to ensure fairness for all involved it is sometimes necessary to do so.

We would remind all member clubs this League is run for your teams and to ensure your players get a quality footballing experience in a structured and well organised manner, so please ensure you do your bit to make sure we can facilitate this for you.

Except for last Saturday's postponements, the League Secretary must recieve dates for all the other fixtures  no later than 9th April. Any fixtures not re-arranged mutually by that date will be set in stone by the League AND FURTHER FINES WILL BE ISSUED.

To help you with this we have already introduced the double header option, which has been excercised by several managers already - please remember - it must be mutually agreed by both managers.

Exeter City Council have informed us they will be extending the pitch licenses which in turn has prompted the League to extend the season to include Saturday 8th May as a date which can be used if necessary for fixtures . HOWEVER, if you are trying to re-arrange a game for the date and the oppostion are unable to make it as they have previous arrangements then they will not be penalised, as all teams will have already assumed that they would be free by this date.

Yesterday, before the rains came in Culm United hosted the Under 10s Plate Day, it was a great success and I think all the teams had a great day as well as getting the chance to play more football.

A moment that stuck out though was seeing the Broadclyst Under 10s win their 1st game of the season in all competition. Hats off to those lads for the determination and team spirit they have shown throughout the League Season and at the Competition, they and their management team are a true credit to the League ... well done boys!!

We have been contacted by Keynsham Town who are trying to organise a couple of games with  local teams for the bank holiday weekend friday 30th April / Monday 3rd May for their Under 16's, If your club has an under sixteen age group perhaps you could pass this on for them to contact Helen from Keynsham directly. They are  hopefully looking to play on the Sat and Sun of that weekend.

UNDER 13'S DIV 2 Culm are still unbeaten in the league after a 8-1 win at Pinhoe. Crediton are in fourth place after beating Exwick 4-3.The clash of the bottom two saw Broadclyst beat Beacon Knights 3-1.

UNDER 13'S DIV 3 Topsham carry on at the top with a 7-1 win against Central. Sidmouth won 4-3 at Feniton.

UNDER 12'S DIV 1 Only two games in this section. Alphington beat Central 4-2 and Stoke Hill beat Pinhoe 6-1.

UNDER 11'S DIV 1 The clash of the top two was won by Newton Abbot who beat Sidmouth 3-2. Dawlish are in third place after a 5-2 win at ST Martins. Alphington are fifth after beating Central City 6-1.Crediton were 14-1 winners at Brixington Blues.

UNDER 11'S DIV 1 Ottery move into third place with a 3-1 win at West Hill. Other results saw Broadclyst win 4-0 at Pinhoe and Heavitree win 8-1 at Kentisbeare.

Alphington Rockets are in third place after a mixed set of results. They beat Sidmouth Raiders 5-2 and were beaten 4-2 by Sidmouth Warriors. Pinhoe Spears are in fourth place after a 2-1 against Beacon Knights. Pinhoe Pikes also beat Beacon Knights by the same scoreline. Whipton beat Broadclyst 2-1.But they were beaten 2-0 by Cullompton Rangers. C W Dynamoes beat Cullompton 3-1.Hemyock drew 1-1 with Central City, they then beat Central Utd 2-0.

UNDER 9S Top of the table Tiverton Whites were beaten 3-2 by Alphington Lions. The Whites got back to winning ways with a 5-3 win against Okehampton. Tiverton Yellows had two good wins against Alphington 3-0 and Okehampton 2-0. The two West Exe sides are in second and third place in the table. Rangers lost 2-1 to Whipton, while the Exiles drew 0-0 with Whipton. Other results saw St  Martins and Dawlish both beat Honiton. While Seaton won both their games against Dawlish and St Martins.

Unfortunately due to the ridiculous British weather, we have yet again been forced to postpone another age groups Plate Day. The Under 13s Plate competition that was due to take place on Sunday 28th March at Tedburn St Mary has been postponed until Sunday 2nd May.

Firstly apologies to all the teams involved for all the messing around, but hopefully you will understand it is not of our doing (unless the Chairman has been rain dancing again) the decision has had to be made to postpone the League Cup Semi Finals again for the U13s and U14s  

Coach Road is currently under water and they have already had to call off County Cup finals due to be held there this weekend, we are fairly confident the pitch will not be ready for Monday or Tuesday of next week as the weather is not due to get any better. The decision has been made to move the semi finals to the following dates. 

Under 13s to be played on Monday April 12^th - Same times and venue 

Under 14s to be played on Wednesday April 14^th - Same times and venue 

Again apologies for any inconvenience this causes... we will get those games played somehow.

In u13 Division 1 and u11 Division 2, each team will be permitted to play one-double header this season (ONE), so long as there are no reasonable objections from other teams in that division. Both teams will also need to be consenting. 

Teams will only be able to play double-headers where neither team has already met this season (for obvious reasons!). 

Basically the result of the double-header will count twice. The winner will get 6 points, whereas a draw will see both teams get a point. However, where one of the fixtures is a cup match, then the result will be the one achieved at the end of normal time and only 3 points will go to the winner. if it is a draw at the end of normal time a single point will be awarded to each team. 

This is an emergency measure designed to help teams with a serious backlog of matches, a better chance of playing them before the seasons end. THIS IS NOT A RULE THAT THE LEAGUE EXPECTS TO USE OFTEN THIS SEASON AND IT WILL NOT BECOME A HANDBOOK RULE FOR FUTURE SEASONS. THE LEAGUE'S DECISION IS FINAL. 

Teams wishing to play a double-header need to ensure that a pitch is available before approaching the League. The League may very well not approve all "double-header" requests, especially if the matches are already booked in. 

If teams from other age groups/divisions wish to investigate the chance to play a single double-header in order to ease fixtures congestion should email nickmiles27@hotmail.co.uk.

A quick messge to all those taking part  from Phil Squires, your host for the day... Can all teams please arrive as early as possible  and head for the astro (All Weather Pitch Car Park) in order that the day can start on time and to make sure you have no problems with parking.

The club will also be selling Bacon Sandwhiches and hot and cold drinks on the day, so packed lunches don't need to be the order of the day.

UNDER 14'S  Kentisbeare close the gap at the top with a 4-2 win against Ottery. Sidmouth were 2-0 winners against Crediton whilst Phoenix Club were comfortable winners at Hemyock with a 3 - 19 scoreline

UNDER 13'S DIV1 Its very tight at the top of division one with the top three all winning.. First place Sidbury won 2-0 at West Exe, second place Heavitree won 9-0 at Crediton. While third place Tiverton beat Stoke Hill 4-3.

UNDER 13'S DIV2 Top of the table Culm beat West Exe Rangers 7-2.Twyford move into second place with a 5-1 win over Beacon Knights. Crediton and Exwick drew 2-2.

UNDER 13'S DIV3 Only one result in this section. This was a 6-0 win for Topsham against Feniton.

UNDER 9'S  ST Martins beat Sidmouth Warriors 2-1.In their next game they were held to a 0-0 draw by Sidmouth Raiders. Dawlish were 3-1 winners against Sidmouth Warriors. Stoke Hill beat Culm 3-1.In their next game Stoke Hill beat Moors 2-0.Moors got back to winning ways with a 3-1 over Heavitree. Culm and Heavitree drew 0-0.

After a very tense game Thorverton made their way into the final after winning the game on penalty's as nothing else could split the teams. they will meet Newton Abbott 66 who eventually ran out 3 - 1 winners over Alphington Jets in another very exciting game that up til the last 5 minutes or so could have gone either way.

Congratulations to the finalists and well done to the beaten semi finalists who both played some tremendous football.

Exmouth Amateurs came out victorious in a closely contested game against Central City that saw them win by a 2 - 0 scoreline, Their opponents will be Tiverton Town Yellows who progressed to the Under 9's final with a 1 - 0 win which came by way of a penalty against Westexe Exiles.

West hill Wasps beat Stoke Hill 1 - 0 on Saturday, they will meet Alphington who eventually ran out 5 - 2 winners over Twyford Celtic.

Can all managers who play on coincil pitches please ensure that any fixtures listed on the web site as home games that are mid-week games are played on NON COUNCIL pitches, as it has been pointed out that the council have already made it clear, the Youth teams will not be permitted to play any mid week games on Council Pitches.

UNDER 9S Tiverton Whites are top of the table after a 3-0 win over Pinhoe.In their next game Tivvy drew 2-2 with Whipton. Exmouth are in fourth place after beating ST Martins 7-0 and Dawlish 5-0.Sidmouth Warriors are in fifth place after beating Moors youth and Culm,both 2-0.Sidmouth Raiders also beat Culm and Moors,3-0 and 2-0.Tiverton Yellows drew 0-0 with Pinhoe, but they were beaten 2-0 by Whipton. Seaton won both their games,1-0 against West Hill and 3-2 against Cullompton. Stoke Hill beat Pinhoe 4-0.They were also 7-0 winners against Beacon Knights.

ST Martins and Dawlish both won their games against Brixington Blues.West Hill won 6-3 against Honiton.Cullompton were also winners against Honiton by a 1-0 scoreline.Central City won their first match of the day with a 3-1 win against Alphington. Inaki Iriarte gave City the lead. Cameron Low soon made it 2-0.In the second half Inaki Iriarte made it 3-0. Sam Probert pulled one back for Alphington to make the final score 3-1 to Central. In their next match City beat Okehampton 5-1.

A inaki Iriarte hat trick and a goal each for Cameron Low and Oliver Cox gave City the points.The Okehampton goal came from Declan Grimshaw. Central Utd and Okehampton drew 1-1. United's goal was scored by Tyson Gelden. Okehampton scored through Josh Parson. In their next game United were beaten 2-1 by Alphington. Ethan Matthews gave Alphington the lead. Cameron Bastyan scored for United.but a Sam Probert goal won the game for Alphington (Action shots of the games played can be seen on the Under 9's photos section)

It appears the Exeter City Council pitches will NOT be available for any mid-week games at all... It may be a case of teams who play on council pitches that have home games to re-arrange should discuss with the opposition fortunate enough to have their own pitch if the game can be played at theirs either mid-week or on a Sunday.

Clearly this is not ideal and I realise there will be crys of "losing home advantage", but hopefully all managers will be able ot see the sense. There should be enough mid-week spaces and Sundays available to make sure all out standing fixtures in the competitive age groups are fulfilled, we are trying to help several clubs get dates sorted at the moment, if you need asssitance please email the Sec and keep us up to date with how you are sorting things out.

Kentisbeare moved level at the top with Phoenix after they beat them 4-3.Crediton are in third place after a 2-0 win against Bradninch. Sidmouth are in fourth place after a 8-2 win over Hemyock.

Okehampton moved into second place with a 5-2 win against West Exe Athletic. Stoke Hill are in third place after a 1-0 win at Crediton.

Culm march on at the top with a 9-0 win against Broadclyst. Twyford are in second place after a 5-0 win over Brixington. Exwick and West Exe Rangers played out a great game. Exwick scored after two minutes with a Luke Meluish strike. Four minutes later Meluish made it 2-0. On twenty five minutes West Exe pulled a goal back through Jake Alford. Just before half-time Lewis Macakie made it 2-2. The second half was a even affair. Exwick stole the points with a Sam Andrews goal to make the final score 3-2.

UNDER 13S DIV 3

Top of the table Sidmouth won 10-1 at Brixington Blues. Second place Newton Abbot won 4-3 against Alphington. Exwick are in third place after a 8-1 win over Dawlish. Other results saw Twyford and Thorverton draw 2-2, while St Martins were 5-3 winners against Pinhoe.

UNDER 11S DIV 2
Cullompton are still unbeaten after a 3-0 win at Pinhoe. Ottery are in second place after a 13-1 win against Kentibeare. West Hill beat Stoke Hill 2-0.Heavitree and Central drew 4-4.There was also a draw for Brixington Utd and Broadclyst 0-0.

UNDER 10'S
Stoke Hill Celtic dropped their first points of the season when they drew 1-1 with Crediton. In their second game Celtic beat Tedburd 1-0. West Exe are in second place after a 10-1 win over Moors Comets and a 2-1 win against Moors Stars. Pinhoe Spears are in third place after two victories over Central Utd and City. Pinhoe Pikes also won their games against the two Central teams.

Dawlish lost 1-0 against CW Dynamoes, but they were 6-1 winners against Whipton. Whipton were also beaten by St Martins. In their other game St Martins drew 0-0 with CW Dynamoes. Brixington Blues beat Broadclyst 9-1.And they then drew 1-1 with Cullompton. Exmouth were also winners against Broadclyst 11-0.

UNDER 9'S
Tiverton Whites are top after a 4-1 win against Culm. They also beat Moors Youth 6-2.Tiverton yellows drew 1-1 with Moors, but were beaten 2-1 by Culm. West Exe Exiles had two good wins against Honiton 6-0 and Seaton 4-0.

UNDER 14`S
Phoenix held onto top spot with a 2-1 win over Ottery. Third place Crediton won 5-4 at Sidmouth.

UNDER13`S DIVISION 1
Tiverton Town moved into second place with a 4-2 win against St Martins.

UNDER 13`S DIVISION 3
The only game in this section saw Sidmouth and Central play out a 1-1 draw.

UNDER 12`S DIVISION 1

UNDER 10
Top of the table Stoke Hill Celtic are still unbeaten after the latest round of games. Celtic had to be at their best to beat a very good Sidmouth Warriors team. A Joe Balkwan hat trick gave Celtic the points in a 3-1 win. The Warriors goal came from Ollie Jarrett. Celtic won their next game against Sidmouth Raiders 8-1.Their goals came from Freddie James (3),Dan Hodges (2),Tom Cox (1),John Morgan-Ross (1) and a own goal.

The Raiders goal came from Reuben Raffell. Sidmouth Raiders got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win against Stoke Hill Rangers. The Raiders goal came from Reuben Raffell. The last game of the day saw Sidmouth Warriors beat Stoke Hill Rangers 3-1. The Warriors goals came from Tom Woodruff (2) and Ben Gosse (1).The Rangers goal was scored by Jorden Samford.

UNDER 9
Twyford Madrid are still top of the table though they were held to a 1-1 draw by Okehampton. Tiverton Whites are in second place after a 7-0 win against Cullompton Rangers. The Whites also beat West Hill 2-1.Tiverton Yellows beat Cullompton Rangers 3-0, and West Hill 2-1.Okehampton were 9-0 winners against Twyford Barca.

We are in desperate need of a venue for the Under 9's and the Under 11's . Because of all the fantastic weather we have been having! All plate days will be held on Sundays. Ideally we would like the two age groups to be played on Sunday28th of March if possible. if there are any clubs who can help out please email Russ asa matter of urgency.

If we cannot find venues the players will not be able to have their Plate Competition.

For some time now, it seems that every Saturday I get a call questioning the eligibility of players from the Stoke Hill Under 12's side. Please let me put the record straight and let's hope that it will stop the constant enquries.

Stoke Hill Under 12s have a great squad of players and that squad was bolstered by  two talented lads that joined during the season. The league have been presented with documentary evidence to show the lads as being TOTALLY ELIGIBLE  to play for their team at that age group.

This message is not aimed at any one team or any individual, and I understand as much as the next person that when you play in a team sport, you want it to be a fair and level playing field, and everybody has a right to know that their oppositions players are eligible players.

If the players from the opposition have ID cards (or emergency slips in some cases), then they are eligible to play. so please make sure ID cards are checked in the correct manner prior to games starting and there should then be no need for further enquiries.

Leafield Athletic Under 15's a football team from Solihull we will be staying in Torquay on the weekend of 2nd to 4th of July 2010. In their own words "we are a friendly bunch,who would love the opportunity of playing in a competition/friendly in or around the area on the above dates".

We have heard that there are a number of home managers having difficulty re-arranging fixtures with reluctant opposition managers.

Rule 10 C I, ii, and iii are quite clear.

In the event of two dates being given by the host club/team, one will be backed by the League (with very few exceptions). 

Please find below the excerpt from the current handbook. 

10 (C) (i) If the away team have an available pitch that is playable the game is to be switched and played on the same date.

(ii) If neither pitch is playable league games will be re-scheduled mutually between the two managers for a future date. The home team manager should give two dates of choice. 

If neither date is acceptable the league Secretary should be informed and a date for the game to be played will be set by the League.

(iii) Where the league is forced to set a date for a league game; if either team are unable to play on that date the game will be declared void with the defaulting team being deducted a minimum of 1point - up to a maximum of 3 points. 

Please do what you can to get your games played. At the moment, there is no provision for double-headers or any other way of getting results decided without actually playing. 

Secondly, having warned clubs about unpaid fines before, it is disappointing to note that the League has a number still outstanding.

If your club receives a fine of, say, £5, there will be a surcharge of £10 if the original fine is not paid within the 14 days after the date of the fine. 

Rule 5 (H)  All fines and charges shall be paid within 14 days of the date of posting of the written notification. .

Clubs, Officials or individuals committing a breach of this Rule will be fined a further £10 or otherwise penalised at the discretion of the Management Committee. 

We need to be quite clear - if your club/team has not paid the first or second fine, the next, additional fine, is likely to be heavier still.

Furthermore, subject to the views of the League Committee, any club not paying the original fine within 14 days, or the additional fine, also runs the risk of having points deducted. 

Remember, by and large, this affects the competitive age groups only (i.e. u11 and above).

Remember also, that all clubs agreed to be bound by the Rules in the League handbook. 

This is your League, help us make it work for you!

Please ensure if you are looking to transfer players, ALL transfers must be complete by 1st March in the playing season as per RULE 8 (f) in the Qualification of Players section of the handbook

Transfers sent in after that date  will not be considered.

Ottery St Mary Youth Football Club are on the look out for new coaches for up and coming younger age groups.. we currently have 9 teams in leagues but as of next season we need coaches for u8's u10's and u11's.

We have great a infrastructure in place with youth football continuing into adult football, believe it or not we have a player signed who,s late sixties!! Ottery YFC pay for all coaching coarses if needed.

As the two plate days are currently scheduled to be played to a climax on the day, we have extended the times for the semi finals and the final to ensure there is a sufficient time in those games to find the footballing winners. We are still awaiting to hear dates for the Plate days, if they are in the near future and we are able to securea seperate venue, there is a likelihood the finals for those two age groupswill be moved to a day on their own.

It is with great regret, we have ot report another loss at the U13s age group. Due to lack of players Exmouth Eagles have now officially withdrawn from the league.

All results for the game in which thye played have been expunged and fixtures removed from the fixture list, U13 division 1 managers, please check the fixtures list as you will no doubt finda gap or two now.

Before you read this - please bear in mind it is not something that is cast in stone, it is simply a possible scenario on how the outcome of the Championships in each age group are decided.

It is quite possible that there will be a number of unfulfilled fixtures by the end of the season.

In the interests of all those clubs who wanted competitive leagues with the outcome to include, Champions, Runners-Up, as well as promotions and relegations, in the event that there are unfulfilled fixtures at 6^th May 2010, then the League is considering a Pools Panel, where results for unfulfilled fixtures are determined by a panel. 

This does not mean that teams can simply cry off without good reason (Rule 10B for unfulfilled fixtures) but this has been an extraordinary year. 

This may well have to be cleared by Devon FA but we would value as many views and comments, together with solutions from all teams in the u11 to u14 age groups please.

The Phoenix club and Kentisbeare are neck and neck at the top of the table. Both teams were four goal winners this week. Phoenix beat Ottery  4-1. While Kentisbeare won 4-0 against Sidmouth. The other result in this section saw Bradninch win 3-1 against Hemyock.

 UNDER 13S DIV 1
St Martins moved into second place in division one with a great 5-2 win against leaders Heavitree Harriers, whilst Okehamptons re-arranged game with Stoke Hill ended in a 2 -2 draw. The only other game in this section was a 7-0 win for West Exe Athletic against Exmouth.  Congratulations to Sidbury who ran out  1 - 0 winners against Tiverton in the League Cup quarter final

UNDER 13S DIV 2
Culm Utd march on at the top with a 8-2 victory against Beacon Knights. Twyford moved into second place with a 5-2 win at Crediton.

Only one result from this section. This was a 6-0 victory for Topsham against Feniton. This result puts Topsham nine points clear at the top of the table.

Exmouth are top of the chart after a good set of results this week. They beat Sidmouth Raiders 11-0 and Sidmouth Warriors 4-0. Sidmouth Warriors are in second place after getting back to winning ways with a 4-0 win against Brixington Blues. Sidmouth Raiders are in third place, their other game of the day saw them beat Brixington Blues 2-0. Tiverton Whites are in fourth place after beating West Exe Rangers 3-0 and West Exe Exiles 2-0. Tiverton Yellows had a good day beating West Exe Rangers 3-2 and drawing 1-1 with West Exe Exiles.

The two Central sides had a mixed day - City were 1-0 winners against St Martins and 2-0 winners against Dawlish. While Utd lost 2-0 to St Martins and 4-0 against Dawlish. Heavitree lost 1-0 against West Hill. They then drew 2-2 with Cullompton Rangers. Alphington lions had a good day. In their first game they beat Honiton 6-0.Alex Owens gave the lions the lead. Tom Prout and Sam Probert soon added to the lions tally. Alex Owens scored his second of the match. Ethan Matthews scored twice to make the final score 6-0 to Alphington. Honiton battled well but they could not find a way past Harry Wellaway and Ben Shear in the lions defence. In their next game Alphington beat Seaton 2-1.The lions goals came from Tom Prout and Ethan Matthews.

UNDER 10`S  Pinhoe Spears are in fourth place after a mixed set of results. They beat Twyford Rangers 6-0,then they lost to Twyford Celtic 3-2. Pinhoe Pikes are in sixth place after a 2-1 win against Twyford Celtic and a 8-0 win against Twyford Rangers. Other results saw Crediton Saints beat Broadclyst 11-0. The Saints were then beaten 4-3 by Cullompton Rangers. Hemyock were beaten 2-1 by Inter Heavitree. In their next match Hemyock drew 2-2 with AC Heavitree. Tedburn won their game against Broadclyst 11-0.

UNDER 9`S The two Sidmouth sides are the top teams two in this section. But they did not have it all their own way in this weeks matches. The Warriors were beaten 2-0 by Central City. They got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win against Central Utd. The Raiders beat Central Utd 6-0 and  were held to a 1-1 draw by Central City. Right behind the Sidmouth teams in third place are West Exe Exiles. The Exiles beat West Hill 3-1 and Cullompton Rangers 3-0. West Exe Rangers were 2-1 winners against Cullompton Rangers and 3-2 winners against West Hill. Heavitree and St Martins drew 1-1. St Martins then beat Stoke Hill 2-1.Stoke Hill also lost 3-1 against Dawlish.

Inspections will be made tomorrow morning and managers should contact the Arena as per usual on the phone number they have after 9 am to get a definitive answer. Some are already in doubt, but none are definitely out of the equation yet, so make sure you do your praying for no rain before bed tonight.

After discussions with Galvin Short, he has informed me that Exeter City Council pitches will have an extension and that teams will be able to play on the council pitches up to and including Saturday the 1st May - formal letters extending licenses will be going out to relevant member clubs in the coming days.

I have to report the sad news again, that we have lost another team - Feniton U11s due to lack of players. It is a real shame to lose another team because of the same reason as the other two teams we have lost this season, especially when some  teams have so many lads signed on! Over the coming days I will be sending out a newsletter to all club secreataries and managers with an idea the league have that may combat this for next season.

In the meantime can all U11 Division two managers please note that all results for games involving the Feniton U11s have been expunged and all future/re-arranged fixtures involving the team have been removed so you will now have some free dates that will need filling.

Under 14`s league cup quarter finals
Phoenix, Kentisbeare and Sidmouth are all through to the semi finals to join Bradninch after they won their quarter final ties. Phoenix were 8-5 winners against Ottery while Kentisbeare beat Crediton 4-2 and Sidmouth ran out 10 - 2 winners at Hemyock.

Under 13`s league cup quarter finals
Only one cup tie played in this section today between West Exe Rangers of Division 2 and Stoke Hill Spurs from Division 1. Stoke Hill ran out winners by 12 goals to 2.

Under 12`s league cup quarter finals
The all first division clash between Honiton Town and St Martins was only five minutes old when St Martins took the lead. A shot from Joe Boyne found its way into the home teams net. On seventeen minutes Boyne scored his second of the match to put his team in control of the game, but Honiton battled back and a good finish from Neil Paris made it 2-1. Straight from the re start Jamie Robinson restored the visitors two goal lead. With time running out in the first half another good finish from Neil Paris got his team right back in the game and made the half time score 3-2 to St Martins.

St Martins started the second half the stronger of the two teams and two goals from Sam Clarke put them in a good position. Honiton kept on battling but they could not stop Jamie Robinson from getting his second and St Martins sixth. This was a good cup tie played in snowy conditions. So it's St Martins who go through to the semi finals. In the other cup tie played today First division Alphington just edged out second division West Exe by a 7-6 scoreline.

Under 11`s league cup quarter finals
First division Alphington saw off the challenge of second division Cullompton by a 2-0 scoreline. Thorverton were 2-1 winners at Crediton. Newton Abbott beat Dawlish 5-1. Sidmouth had already reached the semi finals after playing their cup tie with Brixington Blues a couple of weeks ago, they won the tie 6-0.

Under 10`s league cup quarter finals
The clash of the top two in the league saw Alphington beat West Exe 5-1. Stoke Hill Celtic won 3-0 at Countess Wear. The match between Twyford Celtic and Tedburn Panthers ended 3-3 and went to a penalty shoot out. This was a close affair which Twyford won 3-2.

Under 9`s league cup quarter finals
There were mixed fortunes in the cup for the two Tiverton sides. The yellows won 3-0 against West Exe Rangers while the whites lost 6-0 against Exmouth Amateurs. In the other cup tie played today Central City beat Stoke Hill 2-1.

Honiton Town U/12s are seeking additional players to compliment their existing squad.  A strong emphasis is placed on player development, thus enabling players to maximise their potential.  Training takes place on Thursday evenings, under the guidance of our FA Level 2 Qualified Coach.

All players must have played at least 3 COMPETITIVE games for their team to be eligible to play for their team on Saturday in the cup competition.  This means both league and cup games played previously count as competitive games.

The wording in the handbook may confuse some in to thinking it is only league games. Also please be reminded players can only play for one team in the cup/plate competitions - please see RULE 24 (D)(ii).

If you are in doubt of a players eligibility CHECK as result sheets will be scrutinised.

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to report that Beacon Knights Under 12s team have had no alternative to pull out of the league. they have been struggling for some time to get new players in and the number of players has not risen making it almost impossible at times for them to field a team. Having spoken with Steven Rowland the club chairman this morning, he gave the official confirmation that for this season they would have to withdraw. I am sure those of you who have had any dealing with Steve and Karly will agree that it is a great loss after the great support they have shown the league over past seasons. the decision will not effect any of the other Beacon Knights teams, who all remain strong and competitive in the respective age groups/divisions.

All results that have previously been recorded for teams who have played Beacon Knights U12s in the league have been expunged and U12 managers in division 1 should check the fixtures list as all futue fixtures have also been removed.

Hopefully we will see them back again next season. The league offer their thanks to Karly Pearce for all her hard work and determination in keeping the lads together and wish her every success in whatever road she decides to take next.

It is with great regret that the Whipton Youth U8s will not be able to fulfil any further fixtures during the 2009/10 season. They have struggled on for some time but on have 5 regular players at present. They are hoping to have new faces in the near future and the league wish them every success in getting a team back together. 

In the meantime if there are any clubs with U8s who would be looking to play friendlies on  a Sunday ( and could perhaps loan the Whipton lads a couple of players on the day then please contact Jamie (jamie@whiptonyouth.co.uk ) as the lads that are still there are desperate to play some football. 

With teams that this effects in terms of matchday venues, please liaise between yourselves and inform the League Secretary of new venue so as the fixtures list can be updated accordingly.

Can all U12, U13 and U14 Managers please ensure they check the referees appointments pages as we have now updated the fixtures with the new appointments.

 Sidbury stay in second place after being held to a 3-3 draw by St Martins.

 Culm Utd moved five points clear at the top after they beat second place Twyford Spartans 3-2.

 Brixington Blues march on at the top after a 5-1 win against Honiton Town. Heavitree Comets stay in second place after a 8-2 win against Central.

 The only game in this section saw Bradninch beat Sidmouth Raiders 4-1.

 UNDER 11`S DIV1
 Sidmouth Town are eight points clear at the top after a 6-2 win at St Martins, while Thorverton beat Dawlish 2-1.

 UNDER 11`S DIV2
 Cullompton Rangers are in second place after a 2-1 win against Stoke Hill. Central won 9-5 against Kentisbeare.

 UNDER 9`S
 Sidmouth Raiders and Sidmouth Warriors both took the chance to move up the progress chart with two wins each. Raiders beat Pinhoe 4-0 and Beacon Knights 3-1.While the Warriors beat Pinhoe 1-0.They followed this up with a 3-0 win against Beacon Knights.

Much to the relief of some managers, it has been decided that there is to bea further extension to the season end date for the Exeter and District Youth League. Games can now be played up to and including Thursday 6th May 2010 . this will be the final day on which any league games can permissably be played.

Managers who play on council pitches, please be aware that this will not mean the council will automatically extend their deadline. If you are going to have difficulty with pitch allocation then contact the League Secretary as soon as possible (this is not dates - it is actual pitch) in order that possible other venues can be explored.

Postponements - Clearly there has been extrodinarily bad weather which has caused a huge amount of games to be postponed, unless you want your club to be fined, please ensure that you get re-arranged dates to the League Secretary within 7 days of postponement as per league rules.

It has been confirmed by Galvin Short from Exeter City Council that all Exeter City Pitches are closed this weekend (Saturday 16th January) due to waterlogging.

Can all managers make sure that they send in the proper form for match postponements. It is very much appreciated that you call/text email in order that we can be as eficient as possible. But as I am sure you can understand with so many postponements, unless I have the correct form it is possible that the re-arranged fixture may slip through the net and your club will end up being fined - which we do not want to happen.

Saturday Games
With the cold weather we are having it is inevitable that games will be called off on Saturday. Can ALL MANAGERS please make sure thye let the opposition, referees and league officials know as early as possible prior to the kick Off time if games are off. many of you will no doubt be able to tell on Friday if the pitch is definitely going to be unplayble, so if you can  let the opposition know then it will prevent them from having to travel unnecessarily in what could be treacherous conditions on Saturday morning.

The league will be asking the council if they can make their decisions for the pitch avaialability known to us on Friday in order that we can publish on the web site to try and keep everybody informed. 

League Meeting Tuesday 12th Jan 7.30pm
The mid season League meeting will be held at the Flybe Suite (ECFC) on Tuesday of next week, all clubs should have a representative at the meeting. If there are any items you wish to be considered to go on the agenda please ensure you email them to the League Secretary by Friday of this week. The agenda for the meeting will then be downloadable on Sunday evening from the web site.

There still appears to be a little confusion with matchday results sheets!! Can all Under 9's and Under 10's Managers please ensure that the scoresheets are sent to the Age Rep for the relevant age group .... Not Carole Johnson.

Some club secretaries will have received fines for some of their club teams at various age groups for varying misdemeanours.... A quick reminder to you all, if fines are not paid within the time-frame as laid out in the hand-book your club is like ly to be further fined for late payment of fines. Please ensure your paperwork house keeping is in order!!

Please remember they are guidelines to help, not hard fast rules and an element of common sense should always prevail.

I have just had a quick update from the council regards the Exeter City Council pitches for tomorrow.... As the snow has not materialised, and the frost has been minimal, pitches are currently playable tomorrow. the usual morning inspections by the groundsmen will take place as would be expected just in case.

Over the last couple of weeks we have had game(s) not fulfilled due to managers informing the opposition they do not have enough players to start the game. The League WILL NOT accept this as a reason for cancellation.  If you are playing 11-a-side football and you have 8 or more players available then you MUST start the game, if you have less than 8 then you MUST inform the League Secretary without delay in order that appropriate measures can be taken and the opposition can attempt to re-arrange another fixture.

Only one game in this section.This was a 5-1 victory for Okehampton Argyle against Crediton Saints. UNDER 13`S

UNDER 13`S  DIV 2
Culm Utd are top of the table after a 4-0 win against Brixington. The only other game played in this section was a 1-0 win for Broadclyst at Crediton.

UNDER 13`S DIV 3
Topsham Town are top of division three after a 2-0 win at Seaton. Tedburn are in second spot after winning 4-2 at Central Falcons.

UNDER 12`S DIV 1
Brixington Utd 1 Central 4.After a even start it was Central who took control of the game with two goals in a minute from Tom Mcshane. The first a chip over the keeper that went in off the bar.This was followed with a cool finish into the far corner.

The second half was very much the same as the first.It even had two more goals from Tom Mcshane.Brixington pulled one back through George Mears.

Brixington Blues are still top of the table after a 6-0 win at Pinhoe. St Martins had a good 7-2 win at Honiton. Alphington and Stoke Hill Cougars shared the points in a 5-5 draw.

UNDER 12`S DIV 2
West Exe moved to the top of the table with a 10-6 win against West Hill. Heavitree Rockets won 5-0 at Sidmouth Raiders, whilst Sidmouth Warriors had a 5 - 2 win over Bradninch. 

UNDER 11`S DIV 1
Sidmouth Town are top of the table after a 9-0 win against Twyford. Newton Abbot are in second place after a 4-1 victory against Crediton Saints. Exwick are in third place after beating Alphington Jets 2-1.Brixington Blues had a good 3-2 win at Central City.

UNDER 11`S DIV 2
Cullompton Rangers moved into second place with a 2-1 win against Central Utd. While Heavitree beat Stoke Hill 7-3.

UNDER 10`S
Moors Stars are top of the progress chart after a 12-1 win against Twyford Rangers, but they were beaten 2-1 by Twyford Celtic. Moors Comets were 7-1 winners against Twyford Rangers. Stoke Hill Celtic are in second place after a 7-0 win against Central City.

West Exe are in third place after a 2-1 win against C.W.Dynamoes. They then beat Whipton Youth 9-0. C.W.Dynamoes lost their next game 6-2 against Alphington Rockets. The Rockets also beat Whipton Youth 3-1.A.C. Heavitree beat Sidmouth Raiders 2-1.In their next game they drew 0-0 with Sidmouth Warriors. Cullompton Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Pinhoe Pikes. They were also beaten 2-0 by Pinhoe Spears.

Hopefully all club officials will have already recieved the news below, if not apologies, it can only be becasue you have not let me have the correct email address :)

Extension to the Season 
It was agreed at the Management Committee Meeting on Sunday 6^th December that the season would be extended by a further week.  Therefore the last league games of the season should be played on or before the 24^th April 2010.  The League actively encourages managers where ever possible to play mid-week or Sunday games to ensure that they fulfil all of their fixtures. 

Plate Competition
Some of you may already have seen that the majority of teams who will be involved in the Plate Competitions have been posted in the relevant sections on the website.  The exact format and dates for each of the age groups has yet to be finalised.  However, we are looking for member clubs who would be prepared to host the Plate days this season.  It is usually an all day event and a great opportunity for the host clubs.  Anybody who wishes to put their club forward please email Russ with the club details and age group you would like to be considered for.  

Outstanding Fixture Rearrangements
With the dreadful weather we have been having it was inevitable that there would be numerous postponements in all age groups.  The League rule is that where a game is postponed the League Secretary should be informed either by email or post on the official form within 7 days with a new date for the postponed fixture.  If you check the website, on the postponements section, you will see there are a large number of games that do not have a rearranged fixture date.  It was decided at the Management Committee Meeting a period of grace would be given up to and including Saturday 19^th December by which time the League Secretary must have been informed of a new date for all fixtures by the home team managers.  The appropriate fine will be handed for each fixture that has not been rearranged by this time.  Please note this is not an instruction that the games must be played on the new date, it is simply to make sure a date has been thought of.  

Team Sheets
There have been a number of incidents where team sheets have not been submitted.  You are reminded that is the HOME TEAM manager's responsibility to obtain the away team's sheet and post both to Carole Johnson within 4 days of the match being played (including Sundays).  Failure to send in the results sheets will mean the home team manager will be fined for both counts of failing to send in the results sheets.  So please make sure at the end of the game, if you are the home team manager, you obtain the sheet from the opposition.  This rule has been in place since the beginning of the season; it is now December and ignorance is no longer a defence.  

With all team sheets, please ensure they are filled in correctly and that your writing is legible.  Common faults at present are: 

• Missing team names
• Missing dates
• Failing to tick the box that indicates ID cards have been checked
• Failing to award marks for referees 

All of the above, if not completed in future, will be finable offences. 

Ineligible Players
Whilst going through the process of administering the ID cards, it has come to the attention of the Registrations Officer that there may be a large number of players who are not officially registered with the League.  Over the coming weeks Carole will be checking this and any team found to have played ineligible players will be dealt with accordingly.  If you are the manager of a team and you have any concern as to whether any of your players may not be registered you should, in the first instance, check with your club secretary who should have details of all players registered with your club.  If they do not have this information then it is the manager's responsibility to investigate further by contacting the League Registrations Officer via email ONLY with regards to any of their players' registrations.  

Devon FA ID Cards
Just a quick note to remind all managers and club officials that the Devon FA will only send ID cards to the club secretary.  

Correspondence
There has been a complaint from the Registrations Officer that a large amount of letters addressed to her do not have sufficient postage.  Fortunately, so far she has had a very good relationship with the postman (J).  He has informed her though that the Post Office will insist on charges being made for insufficient postage.  If your letter (team sheet, transfer form, registration form) is sent and there is not sufficient postage the Registrations Officer will no longer accept the letter and you may find yourself in a tricky situation, so please ensure you check before you post.  Likewise, if you require a receipt for transfer fees, or any other form of information returned, make sure you include a stamped addressed envelope with your correspondence.  

League Meeting 
There will be a League Meeting on Tuesday 12^th January at the FlyBe Suite, St James Park, Exeter.  Time to be confirmed.  If you have any items you wish to add to the agenda please ensure they reach the League Secretary at least 7 days prior to the meeting.  It is expected that all clubs have representation at the meeting. 

UNDER 14's  Just the one game in this section. Kentisbeare were 5 - 2 winners at Sidmouth.

UNDER 12`S DIV1 -  Brixington Blues moved back to the top of the table after a 6-0 win against Crediton Saints.

UNDER 12`S DIV2 -  Hemyock ran out 8 - 4 winners in their away game to Bradninch

UNDER 11`S DIV1 Alphington Jets got their home game with St Martins under way on a very heavy pitch. Both teams played some good football. It was the Jets who took the lead on sixteen minutes. A corner from Daniel Prout was finished off by Charlie Ewart. Ten minutes later Charlie Ewart got his second of the match. This was followed a minute later with Charlie Cann making it 3-0 to Alphington. Both teams had chances to score but the half ended with no more goals being scored. St Martins battled well, but any hopes they had were dashed by Ollie Johnson who netted twice to put the home side 5-0 up. St Martins had a good chance to score when they were awarded a penalty. But a great save from Jack Bunclark in the Alphington goal kept them out. So Alphington ran out winners by five goals to nil, Alphington Lions would like to thank their new team sponsor Exeter West Lions.

The only other game played in this section saw Dawlish beat Crediton 2-1.

UNDER 11`S DIV2 West Hill Wasps moved four points clear at the top after a 6-2 win at Kentisbeare.

UNDER 9'S Pinhoe Spartans won their opening game of the day against Alphington 3-0. The Spartans goals came from Lewis Hawkins 2, and Joe Cockram 1.Whipton Youth beat Okehampton 4-1.Whiptons goals came from Joel Curran 1,Lewis Wilson 2, and Beckham Pyatt 1.The Okehampton goal was scored by Mo Taylor.

Other results saw Tiverton Whites beat Dawlish 2-1.In their next game the whites beat St Martins 2-0. St Martins got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win against Tiverton Yellows. The yellows also lost their next game. This time they were beaten 3-0 by Dawlish. Sidmouth Raiders beat Twyford Barca 2-1.But they had to settle for a 2-2 draw in their other game against Twyford Madrid. Madrid then beat Sidmouth Warriors 4-0. The warriors pick up the points in their other game when they beat Twyford Barca 2-1.

Please be advised that ALL FIXTURES DUE TO BE PLAYED ON SATURDAY MORNING 5th December on ALL EXETER CITY COUNCIL PITCHES are to be re-arranged as the council have deemed all pitches unplayable

Can all managers please ensure thate either email or post the re-arrangement forms (even if you phone/text the League Secretary),  once you know your games are postponed.

With the inclement weather we have been experiencing and more potentially expected, can you all please make sure you are aware of and understand the rule below that refers to switching vvenues if the oppositions pitch is available. This is a league rule

(C) Where a league/cup game is due to be played and the pitch is deemed unplayable on the day of the game the home team must notify the opposition and the League Secretary as soon as possible but no later than 1 - 1.5 hours prior to kick-off.

(C) (i) If the away team have an available pitch that is playable the game is to be switched and played on the same date.

(ii) If neither pitch is playable league games will be re-scheduled mutually between the two managers for a future date. The home team manager should give two dates of choice.

If neither date is acceptable the league Secretary should be informed and a date for the game to be played will be set by the League.

(iii) Where the league is forced to set a date for a league game; if either team are unable to play on that date the game will be declared void with the defaulting team being deducted a minimum of 1point - up to a maximum of 3 points.

(iv) Where a cup game is postponed and there is no pitch available either at the home venue or the oppositions ground the cup game will be played on the following Saturday, or the following Saturday and so on until the fixture is fulfilled. Any league game due to be played on that date between the two teams (and their opposition) will be rescheduled by mutual agreement between the two managers, if the managers are unable to agree a new date the league will set the date. C(iii) will apply.

The draw has been made (a big thank you to all the maangers and supporters who turned up, especially all the lads who got their hand in the bag). Check out your age groups Cup Competition pages, There are some cracking games in prospect and I fully anticpate that all the games will be close and good luck to all the lads.

Don't forget tomorrow night 7.30PM we will be making the draw for January 30th Quarter Final games at the Keepers Cottage near Kentisbeare. It doesn't take long, but it's nice to make the draw in public and the small crowd we had there for the 2nd round draw made it worthwhile. So if you are at a loose end pop along and find out who you have in the next round.

UNDER 13`S DIV1 Sidbury Utd 5 Crediton Saints 2 Crediton took the lead in this game when James Eginton scored his 100th goal for the Saints.Sidbury soon leveled the score through Ben Kidson.Zac Matin then scored twice to put Sidbury 3-1 up at half time.In the second half James Langmead pulled one back for the Saints.But goals from Todd Lewendon and Zac Matin completed the scoring.

UNDER 13`S DIV1 Alphington Tigers are top of Division Three after a 4-2 victory at Sidmouth, whilst Central's reversed and re-arranged fixture against Seaton saw Central run out 6 -1 winners

UNDER 12`S DIV1 Honiton Town moved to the top of the table with a 7-3 win against Brixington Utd. Heavitree Comets moved into second place after winning 4-2 against Central.Pinhoe Warriors beat Beacon Knights 2-1.

In the under 12`s cup Alphington beat Bradninch 16-0.

UNDER 11`S DIV1 Sidmouth Town are top of the table after a 5-2 win against Brixington Blues.In the under 11`s cup Crediton beat St Martins 4-1.

UNDER 10`S Only two games played in this section at the time of going to press.Alphington Rockets beat Dawlish 7-1.And then they drew 3-3 with St Martins.

UNDER 9`S Cullompton Rangers beat Okehampton 3-1.And then they drew 4-4 with Alphington Lions. Honiton Sharks lost both their games against the two Sidmouth sides.Warriors 6-0, and Raiders 4-0.Pinhoe Spartans beat Moors youth 5-1, and Culm 2-0.Sidmouth Warriors beat Seaton 2-0.While Okehampton beat West Hill Wasps 2-1.

UNDER 14S DIVISION The Phoenix Club are top of the table after a 7-1 victory against Crediton. Sidmouth also scored seven times with no reply in their win over Bradninch.

UNDER 13`S CUP 2ND ROUND Second division Twyford Spartans were the giant killers in the under 13`s cup when they pulled off a 2-1 win at first division Okehampton Argyle. Sidbury won 4-0 at home to Crediton Youth. West Exe Athletic won 8-0 at Exmouth.  While Tiverton Town beat Pinhoe Panthers 14-3.

UNDER 12`S CUP 2ND ROUND Second division West Exe got their cup tie with first division Heavitree Comets under way. After only five minutes they found themelves behind when Jonathan Kirk put the Comets in the lead. Heavitree had most of the early play but as the game went on West Exe got more in the game, they got the goal they were looking for when a long range shot from Keelan Stafford-Campbell skidded in the mud and found its way past the Comets keeper to make the half time score 1-1.

With the first attack of the second half West Exe took the lead when Jordan Brooks found the net. Louis Phillips soon got the Comets back on level terms with a good finish. But straight from the re start West Exe were awarded a free kick. Up stepped Ross Bonner to put West Exe 3-2 up. Heavitree threw everything they had at West Exe but they could not find a way past the West Exe defence. So it was West Exe who go into the draw for the next round.

In the other cup ties played St Martins won 11-0 at Hemyock. Honiton beat Brixington Utd 6-1. Brixington Blues were 6-2 winners against Culm. Ottery who are unbeaten in the league were knocked out of the cup by Sidmouth Warriors who beat them 2-1. Cullompton Rangers beat Heavitree Rockets 8-0. Beacon Knights were 4-2 winners at Central.

UNDER 11`S CUP 2ND ROUND Only three games played today in the under 11`s cup. Brixington Blues won 11-2 at Pinhoe. Sidmouth were 5-1 winners at Culm. Twyford and Dawlish drew 3-3 after extra time. So it went to penalties which Dawlish won 4-3.

UNDER 10`S CUP 2ND ROUND In a close game St Martins beat Brixington Blues 2-1 (AET). West Exe Youth were 3-2 winners at Honiton. Stoke Hill Celtic beat Sidmouth Raiders 6-0. And C W Dynamoes won 7-0 at Central.

UNDER 9S CUP 2ND ROUND West Exe Rangers beat Twyford Barca 16-0 to reach the next round of the cup. Dawlish beat Sidmouth Warriors 2-0.West Exe Exiles had to wait until extra time before beating Sidmouth Raiders 1-0. Okehampton and Tiverton Whites drew 1-1.Tivvy won the match 2-1 on penalties. Exmouth were 1-0 winners against Twyford Madrid. Tiverton Yellows won 2-1 at Cullompton.

Heavitree Youth are pleased to advise that we have set up an Under 7 side and are training on Saturday mornings (10am-11.30am) at Ladysmith Junior School.
