Heavitree Tornadoes Matchday Report

West Exe Warriors 1 - 3 Heavitree Tornadoes

Both teams started well with both teams getting in some early attacking play.  The Warriors had the first clear chance which went wide of the post.  The Tornadoes replied with Dominic Stewart and Matt Sewter testing the Warriors defence.  The game progressed in the same manner with both teams having good opportunities to go ahead.  Archie Tamblyn was playing well in the Tornadoes defence, keeping the Warriors at bay.  James Marriott then made two good saves to keep the score even.  Dominic Stewart was working hard up front but just couldn't find the back of the net.  Just before half time the Warriors scored to make it 1-0 at half time.

The Tornadoes came out after half time and put immediate pressure on the Warriors goal.  Tom Preece and Matt Sewter both came close to scoring and finally a great ball from Tom Preece found Tom Dunkley who scored to make it 1-1.  Kaveh Bahrami was then called upon to stop several Warriors attacks which he did brilliantly.  Tom Dunkley and Tom Preece had other chances to put the Tornadoes in the lead but could not capitalise.  The Warriors then came back into the game and James Marriott pulled off a brilliant double save to stop them going into the lead.  A lovely passing move between George Manning and Tom Dunkley resulted in the second Tornadoes goal, a great drive from George.  There was still defending to do and Leon Dunphy and Kaveh Bahrami were up to the task.  Then Matt Sewter put the game beyond the Warriors with the Tornadoes third goal.  Again a fine save from James Marriott kept the final score to 3-1. 

West Exe Wizards  5 - 2 Heavitree Tornadoes

Ben Crowley played in goal for the second game and was called into action immediately, making two good saves.  The Tornadoes were under a lot of pressure and Leon Dunphy and Kaveh Bahrami worked tirelessly in defence.  Eventually the Wizards broke through and scored two goals.  However, the Tornadoes did not give up and Tom Preece got a goal back just before half time.

The second half started in the same fashion with the Wizards on the attack and the Tornadoes defending well.  Again Ben Crowley made several good saves.  The Wizards were too strong though and scored three more times making the score 5-1.  The Tornadoes did come back and Matt Sewter and Tom Preece had good chances.  Finally Tom Dunkley scored a great goal to bring the final score 5-2 to the Wizards
